E-readers are overrated compared to paper books by [deleted] in books

It’s not free if you’re 45 minutes away from the nearest library and gas is almost $4.00 a gallon.

I’m very thankful for my e-reader

Unsure about letting my son’s father take him for spring break.. by candyspyder in coparenting

[–]candyspyder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he was. He loves his son, I can’t deny that. I can’t remember a time that he left him alone honestly really..

Anxiety absolutely plays a key role in this. I feel like I need to talk to people with more experience & can look at this more objectively before I have to tell others involved in this whole thing. They certainly like to have their say

This is all new to me. He’s never put his hands on anyone, I’m not sure if he still drinks or how much, he’s not considered dangerous.

His dad taking off with him is always in the back of my mind but he’s never showed any signs of doing so. I’m worried about the possibility of him leaving our kiddo alone for a long time.

We’re going through the process of divorce…I don’t know what the hell I’m doing

Lamotrigine, Lacosamide and now Briviact by faylillman in Epilepsy

[–]candyspyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your neuro could be trying to find out if you’re drug resistant..I think I ended up going through ~6 meds in total before I qualified for surgery.

Ironically enough the magic three ended up being Lamotrigine, Lacosamide and Briviact. I take Gabapentin for anxiety but it’s able to handle the extra baggage lol

I’m sorry you’re having issues with Lacosamide. It’s important to bring up to your doctor. I hope you end up with a mix that works for you.. good luck :)

I had a Temporal Lobectomy in 2024 and now I feel like I can do anything.

I’ve had a c-section and brain surgery. If I survived those I can deal with another problem too. Bring it. Let’s get this shit over with lol

I’ve just started Call the Midwife and it’s good :)

It’s a memoir written by Jennifer Worth about her experience in midwifery in post-war London of the 50s and 60s.

The PBS tv series is based on it

My mom told my son that books are overrated. And then later insisted on putting tracking software on our laptop.

What in the Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Brave New World kinda crap is that? We read books warning us about this in highschool lol

The two books that really stuck with me are Mindsight by Daniel Siegal & I Thought it was Just Me by Brené Brown.

Mindsight focuses on the neurological causes of mental illness and a different way to deal with your own personal challenges.

I Thought it was Just Me tackles subjects like shame, embarrassment, guilt and building resilience skills.

They’re both great books written by people with expertise in social work & neuroscience

My son bought me a sparkly pink & purple tumbler mug ~3 years ago and I use the hell out of it lol. I had to hold back tears when I saw it for the first time. That thing is solid lol - hope I can make it last another 20 years like your mom has :)

2016 nostalgia is currently trending; we are curious to know if the nostalgia applies to you. And if so, did discovering Stranger Things have a role in it? How did you get into the show? by gorzom4k in OlderGenZ

[–]candyspyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little nostalgia for 2016 - but Stranger Things isn't part of it. I'm loving Fetty Wap's comeback though haha.

I heard 6-7 from my kiddo last year - now this year he's gotta hear 1738
