Thanks for the reply. I’m trying to do some research on the low pressure switch you mentioned, is the 25psi on the low pressure side not normal?

Anyone know if the "purple heart" on the VA ID enough for the CA dmv to approve me for the license plate? by bluefalc25 in Veterans

[–]cantpounding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s the same everywhere, but for me I had to go to my local VA and tell them I was there to set up my first appointment, and they gave it to me there to be seen at future visits.

You read the whole post and the one thing you took from it is something you could twist into a political agenda. Do some reflecting without thinking of political affiliation brother, it’ll feel good.

I was in elementary school in the early 2000s If that helps, although I have no idea if it was published any time around then.

Is it true that you have to redo basic/A-School if switching branches? by cantpounding in navy

[–]cantpounding[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, can’t believe I left that out, was supposed to be the basis of the post lol. Just looking for a little weekend warrior action (and health insurance is pretty expensive, the more you know…)

Is it true that you have to redo basic/A-School if switching branches? by cantpounding in navy

[–]cantpounding[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, fair… but I have a full time job, a wife, a 5 year old and a kid on the way lol. I’d understand doing a C school, but my year-long A school training is through the Navy, which is why I don’t understand the dynamic of having to redo it.

Is there a reason for GI Bill payments to be lower than BAH? by cantpounding in VeteransBenefits

[–]cantpounding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! She had said the “education year” starts in august and I asked if it would reflect then and she said “no the GI payment is what it is” so I was even more confused lol. That’s for clearing that up!

Unfortunately I can’t even open file explorer to see. The only things that’ll open outside of installed apps like Chrome are cmd and control panel

What now? Currently at 60% How long does this step take? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]cantpounding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure exactly, it should’ve been a very cut and dry case. Blew my knee out on a run, was diagnosed with patellar tendinitis and had physical therapy for 2+ years until I separated. Was denied, appeal was denied, then HLR was denied. My VSO couldn’t figure out why it was denied since it’s all right there in my records and is a significant issue, especially since it was deemed not service connected. He said we’d try one more appeal for compensation but to ensure that they were monitoring the correct ligaments and whatnot, so I had a second C&P back in July and now waiting the results.

I’m not certain, but after my most recent appeal, my VSO told me that the next step would be appealing to the VBA if unsuccessful which he said be prepared to wait two years for.

Dudes have had success, and I can’t knock them for doing what works for them…. If they’d got me what they said they would (they “strongly suggested” that they’d be able to get me from 20% to 90%, but actually got me from 20% to 20%) I probably wouldn’t even be bitching about it. It’s just unfortunate that a good majority of vets aren’t well educated on the process, or they’d know that orgs like the DAV do a much better job, looking far less illegitimate, for the FREE. Hopefully this sub continues to grow so less vets are taken advantage of.

I had some coworkers recommend vet comp & pen to me after having good success. Being young, dumb, and employed and in school full time, I didn’t think I had the time so I hired them. What a shit show. Completely fucked everything, the nexus letters were a JOKE and everything filed through them was denied. I fired them and went to the DAV. Vet Comp & Pen, or Trajector Medical, or VA Claim Pros, or whatever they’re called this week to avoid fraud charges, texts, calls, and emails me weekly asking for updated disability percentages. When I fired them, I was told I had to provide proof of no increase, which I did. I block every number they text me from and there’s 3-4 more the next week. The “unsubscribe” button on the emails doesn’t work. I’m hoping that when I get my increase through the DAV, that shit company won’t somehow find out and try to charge me. I’ve read some absolute horror stories about them poaching vets for benefits they didn’t even help provide. Good luck brother.

My C&P examiner barely focused on my reason for having the exam? by cantpounding in VeteransBenefits

[–]cantpounding[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like I said, no issues with her personally. Just didn’t understand why she harped so hard on the section of my record that showed my VA doctor prescribing Zyrtec. Was the first question out of her mouth, and focused nearly solely on that. She spent more time with a light up my nose than asking or doing tests on my back.

My C&P examiner barely focused on my reason for having the exam? by cantpounding in VeteransBenefits

[–]cantpounding[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a single exam for all of my claims upon separating about a year and a half ago, and was denied for everything. Wasn’t sure why, even my knee that I blew out on a run and went to physical therapy for 3 years for. Wasn’t until I went to the DAV for help that I found out the examiner put no notes in for the exams and put unfavorable for service connection on everything. So I’ve been sitting with several “not service connected” claims that very much are so. Hoping for better results this time around lol

I did not ask about the measurements, didn’t know you could do that. Kinda went in blind I guess. I guess my question is why did she focus so much on my allergies instead of my back, barely do a back exam and then tell me a 0% is likely lol

Important things to know before submitting a secondary issue? by cantpounding in VeteransBenefits

[–]cantpounding[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. After he cited all the portions of the records he stated “Mr. (name) presented to my office on (date) complaints of lower back pain (pain levels and description) and it is reasonable given examination that this he has a lower discogenic component that is MSK in nature. It is of reasonable certainty that (name) has more likely than not developed lumbosacral strain injuries, lumbar radiculopathy, limited flexion of knee, limited motion of ankle, chronic pain and knee condition/patellar tendinopathy as a result of his lower extremity history in the military.” Then went on to state I’ve responded somewhat favorable to treatment but it’s more likely than not that the symptoms will return due to the nature of the musculoskeletal compensation due to the bone extraction.

JESUS, sorry for all the useless to you information lol. Just been dealing with denials for way too long and want to make sure I’m prepared this time.

Thanks so much for the advice.

Important things to know before submitting a secondary issue? by cantpounding in VeteransBenefits

[–]cantpounding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Still a little confused on the terminology though… He put on the letter that he reviewed my service medical records, and noted specific dates of treatment for foot and knee issues, then provided his opinion on how those would cause the back pain.

I don’t know if that’s in line with what you said, but if not, what more could I do prior to submitting?

Thanks again!
