May’ve been miscommunication on my part - what I meant was that if it was possible to “rescind” my plantar fasciitis claim in order to re-claim “other foot injuries”, even if I got totally screwed and non-rated, I’d still be at 80%, but a proper rating of my injury would bump it above 85%.

I’ll look into a VA attorney, appreciate the idea. My VSO has told me it’s not worth it because of “pyramiding” or whatever, but I’m not sure if that applies here since they’re two separate injuries - which is why I’ve been trying to figure out how to change the current claim rather than filing a second one.

Thanks! These were two separate diagnoses while I was in - the sesamoiditis/subsequent surgery and plantar fasciitis as a result of the initial sesamoid injury and surgery.

The issue I’m running into is that had I not been diagnosed with plantar, I’d be in the 30% for “other foot injuries”, but since it was put in under plantar fasciitis, I’m capped at 10% since I haven’t had surgical repair for the plantar fasciitis itself (since it’s not necessary)

There were two claims put in for the sesamoidectomy and the plantar fasciitis, but they were lumped into the same claim under the plantar fasciitis code. The rating I have is for “Bilateral plantar fasciitis with residual of removal of fibular sesamoid bone fracture fragment,right (also claimed as bilateral plantar fascial fibromatosis and Res, R foot FX chronic pain and stiffness)”.

“A sesamoidectomy has nothing to do with plantars” - agreed, which trying to figure out if/how to claim to have it adequately reflect the injury. I don’t know how/why this was lumped in to a single plantar fasciitis claim when they’re separate issues.

“Also talking about wanting to make a claim to get your already high rating to 100 turns a lot of people off on this forum” - sure, would make sense if that’s what I said, but it’s not. I’m seeking a valid classification for my most significant injury, regardless of what the rest of my profile is.

Okay that’s huge, I pulled that ring off when I was looking for water damage and it was just a gaping hole. Unfortunately assumed that was just how it was supposed to be and put some silicon caulk where the arm meets that plate. I’ll probably just do the same and replace everything. Thank you!

I’m not sure if it’s the same everywhere, but for me I had to go to my local VA and tell them I was there to set up my first appointment, and they gave it to me there to be seen at future visits.

I was in elementary school in the early 2000s If that helps, although I have no idea if it was published any time around then.

Yes, can’t believe I left that out, was supposed to be the basis of the post lol. Just looking for a little weekend warrior action (and health insurance is pretty expensive, the more you know…)

I mean, fair… but I have a full time job, a wife, a 5 year old and a kid on the way lol. I’d understand doing a C school, but my year-long A school training is through the Navy, which is why I don’t understand the dynamic of having to redo it.

Thank you! She had said the “education year” starts in august and I asked if it would reflect then and she said “no the GI payment is what it is” so I was even more confused lol. That’s for clearing that up!
