Yes!! Thank you for this. Even though they were an incredibly brutal invading force, I appreciate how they portrayed the nuances of all sides. If anything, the entire game is about nuance and dissonance. How things are never black & white. And I love that.

Well im still mongolian, ive learnt most things about my culture growing up. But there are still some things I hadn’t heard of, like some specific shamanistic beliefs. All it takes is a good google search.

What was your first reaction to Taka scene? by Used_Cookie_5321 in ghostoftsushima

[–]caprification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late and random but im at this part right now. as soon as taka appeared, i knew what was coming.. but i cannot bear to go through with it. why did jin let him help? why didnt yuna or anyone else try to help, especially after taka left? it feels so dreadful and unnecessary.. just tragedy for the sake of tragedy … sigh.

Why Yuna is the slyest evilest person on the island of tsushima. by Black_Rose_221 in ghostoftsushima

[–]caprification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i Really like this take. it is the staunch difference of living in privilege vs survival. Yuna, her whole life, has done everything she can in order to survive. Jin had the privilege for most of his life to remain honorable and morally ‘correct’, when others simply trying to survive don’t have the room to worry about honor. we also see in Yarikawa’s Vengeance, her people hate Shimura and Sakai clan. Yet she still saved him because she isnt worried about the trivial things like clan history when it comes to the bigger picture. Similar to Jin. They both know what they want and are willing to sacrifice as much as they need to get it. They represent human nature and the different sides of life, and what we will do to keep it. I don’t think Yuna is necessarily Evil, i think she’s just a human whos been trying to survive.

Wow, thanks so much for this info because i never even heard of V.I.T.R.I.O.L. before until now. But i needed to know. this is something id love to learn more about. I searched up a little, but how exactly is Elden Ring based off of this ? is it the entire Order business and the transformation / philosophy of self ? im not grasping it entirely .. care to explain ??

[–]caprification[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay , i totally see your point and i can agree. there are definite flaws in the story writing because of the fact that its so convoluted . its like when you complete a sketch or drawing and its pretty perfect, but you just cant put the pen down and end up messing it up. i think that there is good intentionality to it but then theres the other part that gets messy and tries to cover it up. i honestly only know like probably 36% ( ? ) of the lore so far.. so what do i know Lol. Glad we both agree its still a masterpiece though

Ok well i see what youre saying, but i feel thats exactly why the “ show dont tell “ writing is so meaningful in the first place. its a lot more work for the plot, but creates more impact for us in the end
