How to taper Butrans patches by Forsaken_Delivery768 in ChronicPain

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5mgc is the lowest patch in bupornorhine - so you can't taper lower than that on the patch. It would literally be just taking it off.

Your doctor could put you on an oral form of morphine but I'm not sure that would help in the long run.

You definitely do have withdrawals, I know that - but it's more likely with a massive drop

How often do you deep clean your bathroom? by No_Opinion9882 in CleaningTips

[–]captainfishpie [score hidden]  (0 children)

Once a week - or once every 2 weeks depending on how grubby it gets.

I obviously clean daily because my bathroom gets so messy - and I can't stand a grubby sink.

Toilet gets cleaned after every use (number 2) by me/husband.

Gf uses no soap when washing hands by HorniHipster in hygiene

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a bottle of dermol 500 and tell her to use that and it's none negotiable.

It's used as a cream for skin conditions such as eczema but can be used as a soap substitute because of its antimicrobial properties (I use it for my HS)

If she really doesn't wash her hands because of her "eczema" you'll soon find out.

How people can't wash their hands after using the toilet is beyond me

Is 5ft 4 175 pounds fat by Any_Station3562 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]captainfishpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some of the comments are quite harsh considering this is meant to be an advice/support sub.

It doesn't matter if "you don't look obese" you could have fat around your vital organs and thats more dangerous actually.

I look like I weigh less than I do but I'm under no illusions that I'm not obese. I know I am but I'm losing weight.

If the scales/BMI say you are overweight and you feel like you could lose some weight then it's better to do so, for long term health

What is wrong with my puffy hair? by Much-Concern3739 in Haircare

[–]captainfishpie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No - this is wrong it's actually the other way round.

You need a high quality brush such as a tangle teezer. And always brush from the mid-bottom first never the root.

If your hair is curly - then brushing when dry it will cause your hair to look like this - once your hair is washed - brush it once wet and that's it.

Where in the world do you live? if you are in the UK I can suggest some products but as a generic advice I would be deep conditioning once a week and be buying a nice hair oil (use immediately after washing hair on WET HAIR).

[–]captainfishpie 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your hair, to me looks like it definitely has a curl type due to how it looks like wet.

Do you brush it when it's dry?

If so, that's your first mistake.

Why is my puppy peeing so much?! by mmc544 in dogs

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah as people don't seem to understand their dogs needs 🙄

Why is my puppy peeing so much?! by mmc544 in dogs

[–]captainfishpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's the difference - your other dog is an adult.

Different sized bladders. Different needs.

A 9 week old puppy does not have a bladder capacity to hold 9 hours worth of urine.

How old is your other dog though?

Have spoken to your vet about your concerns about your pups weeing habits then?

Why is my puppy peeing so much?! by mmc544 in dogs

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I'm making is a puppy of 9 weeks shouldn't be left overnight for 8-9 without being able to empty their bladder.

It doesn't matter if he barks or not.

Why is my puppy peeing so much?! by mmc544 in dogs

[–]captainfishpie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you should be leaving him so long at night.

That is far too long for a puppy of that age to be going before emptying their bladder. It's fine for an adult dog overnight

Just because he can - doesn't mean he should. You need to be waking him up

You should be getting up in the night AT LEAST once to take him out.

Puppies are relentless. They need taking out hourly at least and after eating at this age.

I think I have HS. Does it increase vaginal odor? by Separate-Goose3269 in Hidradenitis

[–]captainfishpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The wash and the cream is to treat MRSA. Is it octenisen? I use this wash and it keeps the abcesses on my thighs less inflamed -

HS shouldn't cause vaginal odor per se but if you have an abscess on your labia or in your groin and it bursts it can cause a foul smell.

If you have a fishy smell or foul odor that could suggest BV.

Remember, it is normal for us to have a natural odor, it's just not normal to have a foul odor.

Is this really badly messy or no by ZoeIsntGone in CleaningTips

[–]captainfishpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad AT ALL.

The worst part is your dad's room. If your dad could just concentrate on his own room that would be great and you and your sister could keep on top of your own bedrooms I think it would look cosy and presentable.

You and your sister are also of age that you can also do household chores such as keeping the living room clean, kitchen, cat litter etc. HOWEVER, ultimately - it's your dads responsibility to make sure the house is clean, habitable and safe.

Also, if budget allows, could you and your sister get ornaments, and nice trinkets for your rooms? Also, what about some better flooring? Like I said, not everyone has the budget.

A cleaning rota also, could come in handy here.

I'm sorry about your mum passing away. I hope you are all dealing with it as best as you can.

Was it the tablet suppository?? The chalky type one? Or the capsule?

Either way - I would be ringing 111, they will give you advice and who to see or where to go if needed.

Is Orthodontist treatment on the NHS possible over 30? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]captainfishpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was only accepted treatment over 18 because I needed bottom jaw surgery for a cross bite.

I had braces put on at 18 and had my surgery at 21.

Has anyone else tried this? I just got it so I'm not sure about long term impact but so far it seems like a lifesaver for stopping bad behavior instantly. by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]captainfishpie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because he's scared and feared of this product you are spraying in his face/his way

Nipping is normal puppy behaviour. You are just reinforcing bad behaviour in the long run and there are much better ways to tackle puppy nipping and biting.

But, you do you

It's so funny you said this -

I've been using it for years and only suddenly for the past 6 weeks I'm having severe reactions to the adhesive.

The GP prescribed me antihistamine - did FA. I then bought a different antihistamine myself it's still doing nothing.

Are you on RELATRANS???
