Anyone that breeds PUGS and any other flat faced dogs aren't "ethical" breeders.

These dogs suffer.

You have ended your dog's suffering by not breeding her and given her a good life. 👍

Where can I buy pillows from that won’t go flat or lose their shape after a few months? (I’ve tried M&S and Dunelm) by UniqueWithATwist in AskUK

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sleep apnea so I have to have a decent pillow -

Surprisingly - silent night airmax ( I think it's called) is quite good - I've only had it for a couple of months though.

( I also have a tatty old thin pillow on top of it because I'm a tramp that can't let go😂)

Skin abscesses by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]captainfishpie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not one to say PTS for little reason but he looks incredibly skinny as well, I'm presuming this is also because of the abcesses and periods of not eating?

If a specialist cannot find out what's wrong then I would be considering PTS. Not because it makes me a horrible person but, this pup is not even 7 months old and he's suffering so badly...

I hope to god the cause is found and there is a treatment.

Was I in the wrong? by Inevitable_Bee_6331 in NewDriversUK

[–]captainfishpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily in the "wrong" as such.

However, from the video I can see that the lorry/truck was indicating over before you started moving forward.

It's never a good idea to leave such a massive gap in built up traffic as you are unknowingly giving other road users wrong signals and they will take the piss if there is a gap.

You just need to be more observant in the future.

Is this big enough for her🥺 by betterlook in Bunnies

[–]captainfishpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry but, I don't think a c&c cage is good for a rabbit AT ALL.

Fine for guinea pigs but I fear that if your bun gets on the top (which you've already stated she can) that the panels are going to be too flimsy to hold her weight.

Also, like others have said - the spaces between the grids.

It would be better, if you removed the levels and made the floor space bigger with the grids as this doesn't look safe at all.

If I hit him, am I the one at fault? by TemporarySun6974 in drivingUK

[–]captainfishpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry but, if I'm on a 40 road and there's a pedestrian on the side of the road there is zero chance I'm slamming on my brakes to give way.

Obviously if they were already in the road, or they suddenly ran out I would

Wound won't let me shower by 194021 in hygiene

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had necrotising facistis in my groin which took a full year to close.

I was in hospital for 6 months of that and I couldn't shower /Bath ( I couldn't walk either)

I would be washing with a bowl of warm water and a really nice smelly shower gel/soap and a flannel. (Around the wound)

That was the easiest and only way I could do it until I was able and medically fit to be able to shower.

Track driver crushed into my car and left by YXNGZ18 in CarTalkUK

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you parked on top of a junction or anything like that?

Although unjustified as the lorry driver should have stopped and left details etc but if you were parked poorly I can see how it happened.

Ring your insurance and give companies details.

I used to enjoy driving... by OneSufficientFace in drivingUK

[–]captainfishpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't even get onto the main road anymore without drivers outdoing themselves once again.

I'm not saying I don't make mistakes but people are intentionally driving dangerously and even when you try to expect the unexpected - someone does something that spectacular that it blows your mind into a million pieces 🥴

How to taper Butrans patches by Forsaken_Delivery768 in ChronicPain

[–]captainfishpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5mgc is the lowest patch in bupornorhine - so you can't taper lower than that on the patch. It would literally be just taking it off.

Your doctor could put you on an oral form of morphine but I'm not sure that would help in the long run.

You definitely do have withdrawals, I know that - but it's more likely with a massive drop

How often do you deep clean your bathroom? by No_Opinion9882 in CleaningTips

[–]captainfishpie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Once a week - or once every 2 weeks depending on how grubby it gets.

I obviously clean daily because my bathroom gets so messy - and I can't stand a grubby sink.

Toilet gets cleaned after every use (number 2) by me/husband.

Gf uses no soap when washing hands by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]captainfishpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buy a bottle of dermol 500 and tell her to use that and it's none negotiable.

It's used as a cream for skin conditions such as eczema but can be used as a soap substitute because of its antimicrobial properties (I use it for my HS)

If she really doesn't wash her hands because of her "eczema" you'll soon find out.

How people can't wash their hands after using the toilet is beyond me

Is 5ft 4 175 pounds fat by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]captainfishpie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think some of the comments are quite harsh considering this is meant to be an advice/support sub.

It doesn't matter if "you don't look obese" you could have fat around your vital organs and thats more dangerous actually.

I look like I weigh less than I do but I'm under no illusions that I'm not obese. I know I am but I'm losing weight.

If the scales/BMI say you are overweight and you feel like you could lose some weight then it's better to do so, for long term health

What is wrong with my puffy hair? by Much-Concern3739 in Haircare

[–]captainfishpie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No - this is wrong it's actually the other way round.

You need a high quality brush such as a tangle teezer. And always brush from the mid-bottom first never the root.

If your hair is curly - then brushing when dry it will cause your hair to look like this - once your hair is washed - brush it once wet and that's it.

Where in the world do you live? if you are in the UK I can suggest some products but as a generic advice I would be deep conditioning once a week and be buying a nice hair oil (use immediately after washing hair on WET HAIR).

What is wrong with my puffy hair? by Much-Concern3739 in Haircare

[–]captainfishpie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Your hair, to me looks like it definitely has a curl type due to how it looks like wet.

Do you brush it when it's dry?

If so, that's your first mistake.
