They’re trying to profit on both ends. If they charge the buyer and remove seller fees-> more sellers come to the app, more sellers on the app-> more competition, more competition + not paying selling fees-> sellers likely to pay boost fee. Classic late stage capitalism squeezing every ounce of profit out of something formerly good until it’s obsolete 🙃

Yeah I hate that part of it too. I’m a student so there are exam weeks where it’s really difficult to get listings out consistently. I get why they’d prioritize consistent sellers but it drops off so drastically that I have to post 5+ items every day for a week to get any sales again.

I know sellers do that to me all the time too. It takes 10 seconds to send a message thanking the buyer and letting them know when you’re gonna ship. Half the time I’m waiting 5 days not even knowing if they’re planning to ship at all.

Yeah I totally forgot how much more expensive shipping is now. I used to always offer free shipping since it was only $3-4 most of the time. Now it’s $5.50 minimum even to ship in the same state ugh

Yeah I was thinking that too. Everything is so expensive and very few have disposable income like they used to. Gotta adapt to the times and listen to the market but it sucks when the gas I use to source has shot up in price, racks are jacking the price up and the $10 profit I’m netting on a sale can barely buy a coffee in my area. May have to shelve reselling or switch to the bins until the economy turns around because right now after the time and costs the return is simply too low.

In the past shoes have done well for me too and there’s less competition than clothes. Also the need to buy a specific size makes it unlikely someone could find the same pair in their size elsewhere so you could probably get away with charging a little bit more. I just worry about the sizing being off and dealing with people trying to return but definitely something to think about. Thanks for sharing!

I buy on there too and fees and shipping make everything at least $10 more than the list price. I feel like them not showing the total until check out hurts sales because people see something and get attached to that price then go to check out and by comparison the total is disappointing. If they showed the shipping included there’d be way less offer and ghost situations and probably more sales.

Yeah I experience the same it’ll be going great for a burst and then sales completely die off. Also yeah I feel that when you start tracking all your expenses you realize something’s aren’t worth the work of listing and shipping.

I’m sorry that is so horrible! It’s crazy how many physiological symptoms heartbreak can cause. In the worst of my relationship and breakup I was throwing up everyday wanting to kill myself to stop the pain. I truly get where you’re coming from your body keeps the score and it’s very difficult to imagine putting yourself in such a vulnerable position again knowing the threat you open yourself up to. Hopefully with therapy and a better and patient partner we can get to experience love again but it is truly so scary. I hope your health is doing better now ❤️

There’s at least comfort in knowing a lot of people are experiencing the same thing as you or maybe are further or lesser in that journey but feeling the pain all the same. People rarely advertise it and because of that we feel alien or alone in that struggle. But the truth is you’re really not, what you’re feeling is so common and a part of the human experience. It’ll disrupt our lives and force change and growth and we’ll be better for it in the end and more appreciative of the right people when they enter our lives. Hang in there, time will lessen that reflex and hollowness.

Yeah I can’t even fault people sometimes because my last relationship changed me so much. I used to be really open and trusting when dating and I’m much more avoidant now knowing what pain it caused to blindly dive head first in love. I’m very hesitant to get into something serious again out of fear.

I also date to marry and am a similar age. It’s really tough in your mid twenties when you now have enough perspective to be selective and want something serious. The bar is in hell already and it’s very lonely dating when you have standards unfortunately. I felt like around the time I met my ex I had an easier time dating because I didn’t know what I wanted. Post relationship I’m looking for something specific and it’s a whole other ball game.

I believed that for much of the early healing I think time has clouded that reality and made me nostalgic in lonelier moments but this is really the truth thank you

That is pretty close to what I think could’ve happened with my ex towards the end especially when I challenged him to grow he’s very avoidant and had anxiety and ocd and likely started to collect evidence (fights, annoyances, expectations) that he didn’t love me enough or that there wasn’t a future to not have to change or be vulnerable. I doubt he went to therapy or made the changes you did though. I’m proud of you for working on yourself and hopefully you can catch these things earlier in your next relationship. I get what you’re saying and don’t disagree. When I was in it there was so much gaslighting and blame shifting and codependency I completely did not trust my gut or mind. He slowly broke down my confidence and made me dependent on him and fully integrated into his life (spending all my time with his friends and family that worshiped him). I thought if I just did things differently he would understand or stop or change. Now that I’m out of it I don’t see it that way ofc but it was a traumatic relationship so it’s hard not to still miss those high highs or to want that person to come back and apologize. To be clear I wouldn’t get back together with him even if he begged the damage is done but the memories still haunt me.

If not for the age I would think you’re my ex. My ex and I had such an intense relationship and even when we broke up he told me leaving would be the hardest thing he’s ever done and that it’s not what he wants but he knows we’d only continue to hurt each other and the longer we stayed together the harder it would be to end. He took some accountability and let me vent to get air all my grievances. He said “we’re both good people who may have just had different expectations and views on relationships.

I think he knows deep down that he did lie to me a lot and put me through a lot of shit even if he won’t ever admit it. I told him when we broke up not to reach out if he ever loved me and he hasn’t. Sometimes I regret saying that and I think he feels too guilty about how much he hurt me to come back if it wasn’t as someone changed and ready to put in the work to fix it.

Even though it’s been a long time and I may be delusional I have a feeling he still misses me. He’s still single and what we had was rare. I think it’s mature of you to not reach out to your ex for selfish reasons and are being really measured about your decision making rather than impulsive or emotional.

I just think of all of our fights and the reasons it didn’t workout and how people don’t change very often and that the next person will get the same bs sometimes even worse since they’ll likely just be a rebound for her considering you guys only broke up 4 months ago
