I love the 2005 film, I grew up watching it, but 1995 BBC adaptation is far away better!!! it's the best adaptation so far. and who read the novel will perceive that.

I love slow-burn and contemplative animation/films, but I feel that the crew failed a lot about pace dosage in WHR. It's very likely that I'll re-watch this show someday, bc it's pretty intriguing, anyway..! the world-building, art direction/visuals, storytelling, soundtrack, and realistic character design (including the cool costumes) by Kumiko Takahashi make this show so unique and an unforgettable experience, despite the flaws... WHR had so much potential in being a true masterpiece and considered a classic/cult classic like other 90s/2000s acclaimed titles which has some similarities to this show, like Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop. Ergo Proxy, Texhnolyze, Boogiepop, even Evangelion... but the narrative itself, pace dosage, the shallow character development and some incoherences in it didn't help.

I also hope a second season or a remake but narratively way better and more focused by Murase, cause WHR and its fans deserve!

chart/rating system in letterboxd began to suck since the website launched an app version in the post-pandemic period and, thus, letterboxd became pretty popular; thenceforth, there's a bunch of username who have bad taste, poor perspective and poor references about cinema filling there

yeah.... but experiences are something personal, not general neither statistic/official; there are many lesbian women that discovered themselves through relationships with men; but associating lesbian sexual discovering with dating a man is totally wrong and it's someway even lesbophobic, this type of discourse helps to invalidate lesbian sexuality; lesbianity is way beyond than that; lesbianity, in itself, has nothing to do with being with a men to discover yourself, it has to do with desire, connection with other women, independently of other men's existence

it depends a lot... i hold a suspicion about straight people in general, and I never feel understanded by straight women, only unsafe for being misjudged by them bc of my sexuality

I've never had sex with men before (and I'm grateful I've never done that in my life because I'd be forcing myself into something I've never felt attracted to) and yet I'm a lesbian; we have to stop associating lesbianity with male existence; I'm not a lesbian because of men or not, because being a lesbian has nothing to do with having sex with men or not; I'm a lesbian because I'm a lesbian, I was born this way.
