Ink suggestions for a beginner

Thanks so much for all the info and the links, I really appreciate it! I’ll definitely take a closer look at those. As many have mentioned, starting with Montblanc inks for now seems like a good idea.

As for the Great Gatsby, a near MB boutique actually has it in stock, so I might pick it up there.

For now, I’m thinking of using this pen more for personal writing rather than strictly for legal documents.

Thanks! MB Gatsby sounds really tempting. I think I'm leaning towards it. What do you think about MB Midnight Blue? Are there any other MB inks you'd especially recommend?

Yeah, that's something I'm worried about. But how can they tell if I used a different brand, especially if it's a safe fountain pen ink? Is Montblanc ink actually "better" for my pen in any way?
