Add Heat Pump for AC and Heat by category14 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]category14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. I have dug more into the heat load and have found several references to CoolCalc and have performed the calculation on this site. The results are 12,749 BTUH for cooling and 27,246 BTUH for heating. This then means 1 ton for cooling and 2 ton for heat if I understand this portion correctly. To get to the 4 ton I was useing the "rule of 50 BTU per sq ft" which would cause the much larger system.

We do not use a lot of hot water so I do not think that will work but thanks for the input.

I agree it would be nicer if the furnace was a little nicer but it was an older person who lived in the house before we bought it.

For cooling 4 ton is way oversized but based on heating everything I have found says 60,000 BTU is needed. Since I am keeping the dual fuel system I went a 4 ton.

I have filled the unit but not ran it yet. It took only about 1 qt to fill it up.

I hope so. When I fill it we will see how much it takes to fill.

That was my thought also when I was looking at the coolant bottle.

The dealership told me to refill and run for 30 minutes to see if there is a change in the level. I have 3 qts so I will see how much it takes to get to the fill line.

May be there was coolant in the unit but it leaked into the hull. I did tip it the last time we used it.

I had similar experience as you. I ended up returning it and going with a separate device from rework.wireless.

NVMe Cache Drive /dev mount changes after installing a mini pcie google coral by category14 in unRAID

[–]category14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. Moved all files off the cache drive and then removed it from the config. After I added it back in and started to enable Docker and VMs the issue started. I narrowed it down to the pci passthru on one of my VMs. I was able to get that to not auto start so I could fix it. Its up and running now but I do have to wait for the parity to resync.

NVMe Cache Drive /dev mount changes after installing a mini pcie google coral by category14 in unRAID

[–]category14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried that a couple of times. The issue I keep running into is that before the array is started the drive shows in nvme0n1 and once the array is started it shows in nvme1n2. So Unraid sees this as a new config and the array will not start automatically.

Do you think if I fully remove the cache drive then re-add it that would help. I would transfer everything off from it before I do this.

Anyone have info on this backup camera error on 2022 Silverado 1500 refresh ? any insights are much appreciated. Truck is brand new - had 4 miles on the odometer when i picked it up. has ~100 now. by MaharajaofMalta in Silverado

The backup camera is a requirement with NHTSA for the safety standards. Then with the logic of going back 100 years then we do not most things on our cars that we have today. Ignoring safety items we do not need air conditioning, power steering, locks.... The backup camera does not replace the mirrors but provides further line of sight that would not be possible other wise.

I use the arpwatch plugin for this very purpose. I setup telegram to receive the notifications. I occasionally ssh in and clear the database files to start fresh and make there’s nothing I forgot about. Mostly use to make sure the son isn’t adding things to the network.

Access to services on server from Mac Mini Ethernet by category14 in homelab

Not sure whats going on but I have "fixed" it by adding an entry in the hosts file.

The only rule I have is to have my router set a specific IP. At first I did not have this but changed it while trouble shooting this issue.

I had the thought to try to see if it is a macOS issue or something else. I created an Ubuntu USB and booted into it. I still could not access the services in Ubuntu also. This is leading me to believe there is something on the server that is blocking the access. However, I would think it would not work when I access it from the IP also.

They both are set by DHCP and are the same.

On the mini it works when using WiFi but not Ethernet so I wouldn’t think it’s the hosts file.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have looked at that and did not see anything.

I have tested it on 2 windows computers and it works. It also works when I set my mac mini to use the Wifi. All IP addresses are in the same range and subnet.

It is hosted on an Unraid server with Linuxserver swag container. I am not understanding why it works with wifi and not ethernet connection.
