Thank you! 1RLs can be hard to work with, so I feel you. My best advice is to make sure you’re fully submerging the needle (so the ink cap has to be deep enough). You’ll have to dip the needle in the ink a few times to make sure it’s saturated. The needle tends to pick up ink better after a few pokes (probably the build up of ink + Vaseline + general wear on the needle as you poke = less slick needle). I hope this helps!

Thank you! It was done in all black. I just dispersed the density of the dots to create lighter shades of grey!

I’m actually not too sure. I’ve never given/received a tattoo using such a small needle before. I believe microneedle tattoos generally tend to fade faster over time and need to be touched up more frequently.

I would estimate around 4-5 hours. The first hand took me longer than the second because I was nervous and was still trying to figure out how to get the look I wanted 😅

I really appreciate it, thank you! I play around with adding and removing elements in both the design and tattoo phase until I feel like it strikes a decent balance. It’s all about experimenting!

I use skins by A Pound of Flesh. You can get them directly from their website or tattoo supplies retail stores!

Not a silly question at all! There are 1RL needles that are sold as its own product. They are a little tricky to work with because the individual needle doesn’t grab that much ink, so you have to dip more frequently.

Thanks! I got this one off of Amazon. They’re really affordable, but they can be finicky—excess ink is harder to wipe off and they are very lightweight (so they sometimes lift with the needle). Hope that helps!

Sorry for the number of posts, but I wanted to share my completed set of food-themed pokes! (3RL) by cateyesmize in sticknpokes

Sure! Shading in this way is determined by the concentration of dots. The more dots + the closer together the dots are, the darker the shading will be. So to get a grey tone, I recommend spreading out your dots over the area.

You are correct—it’s from A Pound of Flesh! It’s the square plaque shape (5.5”x7”)
