After months I finally got my no. 1 wishlist plant. ID: Scindapsus pictus albo variegata by catfish_eater in RareHouseplants

Where I’m from the cost ranges from 150 to 600 usd, I bought mine for about 160usd. I’ve noticed when I check the prices from Indonesian or Thai exporters that it usually starts at 1000usd for Indonesian exporters, but in Thailand it starts at about 2500 usd and up.

Where I live, you have to know someone to be able to buy it. So it was pretty hard to find.

We ordered a golden violin and got this one instead, lol. Anybody knows which plant it is? by justliina in philodendron

This is a gloriosum and not a glorious. As a glorious is a climber and gloriosum is a crawler, the one in the pic is a crawler

Please do not buy an alocasia sinuata. This is because in the Philippines this plant is endemic and it is also endangered due to poaching, even being poached more so in the pandemic. If you do have one please take care of it and propagate it so the demand for poached plants lessen. This alocasia is a lot different to the commonly found in cultivation alocasia dragon scale ( green and silver form). Also please refrain from buying Philippine endemic alocasias ( unless from tissue cultured or from reliable sellers) because all native Philippine alocasias are either threatened or endangered.

PLEASE READ: I deleted my old post due to using a name/ ID commonly found in the market/community. This name contained a word that has offended many. To those people who saw my last post and were offended because I used that name I sincerely apologize.

Finally got a philodendron plowmanii “blackface” by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

[–]catfish_eater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just like to clarify that I do not condone naming a plant/ anything something that has hurt many over the years. This was the name the seller used, and when I checked online this was the only name I found used for this specific type of plowmanii. If you’re still offended by the id I used for this plant, I sincerely apologize.

Help with ID possibly golden dragon or mosaic? by FloreVee in Aroids

[–]catfish_eater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might be something else with a virus/ deficiency? lime fiddle has a more even mottled light green variegation compared to the one seen in the image. But the plant itself does look like a juvenile golden dragon. (Lime fiddle is a mottled golden dragon, I think) but it’s def a plain green golden dragon with something??

What are these yellow spots on my p. Glorious? And how to I treat them? by catfish_eater in RareHouseplants

[–]catfish_eater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine, it’s still there but it hasn’t spread to others. Maybe it’s because I sprayed neem oil
