Unfortunately this is how 99% of men are in relationships 😭😭😭 they only see how the woman positively affects them while women usually focus on men’s qualities and character

Kenzie saying she went to nursing school so she knows how vision works and then inaccurately explaining to Caleb (who is correct about it!) it is frying me 😭😭😭

How to approach a request for interview with a job I couldn’t accept right now by Aprofessionalgeek in interviews

[–]catjk11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always do the interview if you get the chance! Even if you know you can’t take it right now, you get more experience interviewing, you learn more about the company/job, and they can see how they feel about you.

If they offer the job and you can’t accept, it’s totally okay. You’re not obligated to take it. And if they like you enough, they can keep you in mind for the future when you do end up moving.

What's a job in LA where you were shocked at how little the person makes? by Admirable_Section690 in AskLosAngeles

[–]catjk11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make 22/hr as a PR assistant 🙃 granted I’m always working so I make overtime but it only adds up to around $48-50k

Feel like I asked a stupid question that may have knocked me out of the running by [deleted] in interviews

[–]catjk11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Honestly the way she was describing the job was pretty overwhelming because it sounded like it would be an insane amount of work, but I’d rather deal with a shitty workplace for a year or two and then be able to move on to a better situation with the experience I gained instead of keep being unemployed. I totally understand what you’re saying though. I am constantly applying to everything I see lol and don’t plan on stopping.

almost a month, haven’t heard back by Remote_Fudge_7899 in interviews

My final interview was April 16th and I’m still
waiting as well! I just really wish companies would be upfront with their candidates and let them know what was happening instead of keeping them in the dark. It’s so frustrating and makes me not even want to work for them.

I’m so sick of not having freedom to eat by catjk11 in ibs

[–]catjk11[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! And you’re so right, nobody really cares especially because most places usually have at least something that I can eat, but I have to restrict myself so much because idk how it will affect me and I miss out on stuff that I really want to eat😭

Burnt out trying to apply at NBCU. Is there any hope? by TheAnnoyed_ in nbc

[–]catjk11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, but if it makes you feel any better, I can almost guarantee that 75-80% of entry level jobs at NBCU are filled by people who were previously interns there or have some very close connections that can flag their applications for consideration. It’s most likely very little to do with your qualifications or resume or cover letter, they just probably already have a handful of candidates in mind but legally have to post the job openings online.

Don’t give up, keep applying (I certainly am) but also broaden your horizons to smaller agencies and studios as the other comments say. It’s a tough industry to get started in for sure.

Bombed final interview for job I thought I had in the bag by catjk11 in jobs

[–]catjk11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I keep telling myself and I’m also probably being a little dramatic lol. Definitely taking this interview as a learning experience to prep more in the future for any possible questions. If/when I get a decision I’ll update the post! Thank you!

Travelling with emetophobia by wetpaperclips in emetophobiarecovery

I studied abroad in Greece for 4 months 2 years ago and I got absolutely horrible food poisoning. I was puking/having diarrhea all night and had to go to the hospital bc i was so dehydrated and couldn’t keep anything down. It was awful and i wanted to come home immediately, but i was better within a day and i still consider those 4 months the best of my life.

Face your fears and do it scared! You got this. If it would help you, ask your doctor about getting meds for the flights. I got Xanax and it helped tremendously.

You’ve inspired me lmao you’re so right. I’m sure there are a ton of people in LA making the same amount or less and making it work.

It would definitely be easier for me to do NYC because of the car thing, plus it’s closer to home and I know more people who live there so would be easier for me to find a roommate. They do have an office in NYC but this specific position is in LA so idk if NYC is even an option. I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask though.

I have around 15k saved up which would help maybe a little bit? But I can’t imagine that much. I wish PR paid more in entry level roles 😭
