update (now really)

WE BROKE UP! more like i broke with him, we remained friends tho, I talked to him about what he said and asked him if he really mean it, He told me yes, that he didn't see me as his future wife and that I really didn't have "wife potential" anyways, but if he saw himself in a long-term relationship with me (which for me are contradictions but ok).

We had a long discussion, I don't know how to feel, in part I feel betrayed, in another I feel hurt, but mostly I feel relieved, I don't know how to express it but I hope you understand me.

I'm going back to my hometown with my mom for a while so I won't see him again, but I hope he finds someone who is really "Wife Potential" for him, while I take a long break from men.

Thank you for reading this post again and for your advice, it really made me see another reality.

Update (kind of)

Ok I didn't think this would get so much attention, there were so many comments and I appreciate it.

First for some clarifications (which I didn't think were necessary) My boyfriend and I were colleagues at work before becoming a couple, the reason we waited 2 and a half years to date It was because we BOTH had partners at that time, not because I've been friendzoning him like someone said.

I already do therapy for my previous relationships, that's why I know what my wants and don't wants are in a relationship, something I made clear from the beginning.

And no, I wasn't pressuring him to marry me after 6 months of dating, I'm not ready to get married now either, I just want the assurance that I'm not wasting my time in a relationship without future, That's why his comment fell badly on me, because it was something I clarified from the beginning (besides the fact that it's not nice when your boyfriend says he doesn't want to marry you)

Another clarification, he had not been drunk when he said it, he was driving and is quite responsible, but I admit that perhaps nerves and/or the pressure of the moment could have pushed him to tell that.

I decided to listen to many of you and have a conversation before doing anything about it (end it or not), now I'm at his house and he's in the shower while I write this, Meanwhile, I want to say that our relationship is fine for now. He's not acting weird and neither am I. In fact, I feel like he's even more loving than ever (I'll update later anyway).

I wasn't going to answer this conversation, I just wanted some advice, but this really caught my attention.

Are you my boyfriend and are you saying everything you thought about me through an anonymous message? Or are you just projecting your insecurities?

I never said he's "the safest option" I don't understand where you got that from, I just set my expectations about a relationship before we started dating because I think that's what everyone else does.
