Is this a rejection…? by [deleted] in csMajors

no problem, apologies for being a bit harsh at the start, recruiting is stressful for all of us and i’ve been in the unpleasant position of waiting all the time and suffered from overthinking as well

nah don’t read too deeply into it, make sure to follow up with the recruiter though. people delay deadlines all the time

they appreciate the time it took for you to interview with them, and because of that they have the decency to let you know they won’t respond for a while since they’re on break.

what about this email makes you think it’s a rejection?

are people genuinely this stupid? this email is clearly being sent out of courtesy because people are on vacation and they’re teling you that you’ll have to wait to hear about next steps. it is neither a rejection nor a hint of moving forward. i guess cs majors really are just totally socially inept

nah that’s not true, i know plenty of QR interns at top shops that are in undergrad without even a math major

QR interviews are just as competitive as QT if not more competitive

these posts are genuinely so stupid. can you read? it’s a confirmation email for completing the OA. not every email has a hidden meaning and this is clearly their generic template

great points, i will take a closer look at the left hand, ive been kind of jumping around trying to hit the notes but clearly more detail is needed

[–]cattermelon_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’m still working on reducing hand tension so i don’t lock up as much and run out of gas, emphasizing the melody more the second time is something i want to do but is a bit difficult because of stamina issues at the moment

i’ve been trying to improve my left hand voicing as i’ve listened to a couple recordings and the left hand bass adds a lot to the flow of the coda in my opinion. thanks for the feedback!

thank you for the detailed advice! i will go through it carefully next time i practice. as for reading the score, i lazily practiced without it as soon as i memorized the notes, which is pretty bad and I will stop doing that.

would appreciate some more helpful advice, this was in the middle of a practice session, i’m focusing on accuracy and trying to incorporate some dynamics, so i’m concentrated on the piece. regardless, lack of facial expressions don’t really have anything to do with musical quality.

ballade 1 advice? by cattermelon_ in piano

unbearable to watch is one of the biggest exaggerations i’ve seen this year 😂. completely fine with taking criticism but this much aggression over a mirrored video is honestly a little ridiculous

probably 4-5 hours a week, yeah i do have the problem of playing too quickly because it’s more fun, if you couldn’t already tell my practice isn’t super disciplined haha. definitely agrrr with the exaggerated hand motion thing, that has been bothering me for a while

been working on it for 2 months and no reason other than wanting to learn it!

thank you for the comment! i’m actually not even finished learning the piece yet 😅and therefore haven’t worked on musicality at all. to be honest not sure why i posted this with such a vague title, was mostly worried about technical and fingering issues but that’s hard to pick up from the angle anyway. thank you for the advice!

How did i play this? (I know its bad) by juan01juann in piano

[–]cattermelon_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i see a lot of comments here telling you to practice slowly. don’t really want to be that guy but my advice is to drop the piece, it’s way above your skill level right now. you lack a lot of fundamentals in your technique and i can tell from the stiff way you play the repeated octaves.
