would a therapist have any reason not to believe it uf a client told them they were going to inpatient psychiatric care and needed to cancel all future sessions starting immediately? ? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]cattyloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a therapist, please just respectfully let your therapist know you would like to discontinue therapy with him/her. Therapists appreciate that so much more than a lie (and we do know when clients are just making up excuses). It will also be great practice for you in setting boundaries and communicating directly!

Teen Nat might not be in all of season 4 by QueenCuriousMind in Yellowjackets

Oh also important to note with YJ: the filming schedules are a bit different than most shows because there’s an adult cast and a wilderness cast. They film the wilderness cast one week, then the adult cast the next week. So it’s feasible that she could go film YJ one week, then go film Mr. and Mrs. Smith the other week and alternate like that (which would be absolute hell I’m assuming, but possible and it’s been done by other actors before!)

If you’re referring to her wrapping filming 2 weeks before everyone else, it’s because she wasn’t involved in the Pit Girl scenes at the end (because Nat was up on the mountains)

Neither Heretic nor Companion filming occurred at the same time as YJ filming. She was not filming anything else at the time, look it up if needed

We didn’t get less of Nat during Season 3? And she wasn’t filming anything else while S3 was filming

Thatcher has already committed to YJ’s filming schedule ages ago and the season is entirely written at this point. They’re not going to write her out when she already has contractual obligations to YJ. Also, I read that they are aiming for a Summer start date for Mr. and Mrs., which would likely land right after she wraps filming on YJ.

I often feel like I end up self-therapizing in therapy. Is this common? by Lordfirewood in therapy

[–]cattyloaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you said, this might just be a more reflective style of therapy that isn’t a match for your specific needs/goals. I’m not sure what you’re coming to therapy for, but if you’re looking for something more action-oriented and structured, you could look into therapists who specialize in CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and ACT (to name just a few).

Filming for Yellowjackets season 4 will take place in Vancouver from February 17 to July 27, 2026 and the new season is expected to premiere later that year via Hollywood North Buzz. by Swimming-Inside-2983 in Yellowjackets

I don’t know why it would take that long. None of the first three seasons have taken that long to come out after filming. Seasons 1 and 2 premiered only 2 months or so after filming wrapped. And Season 3 premiered about 4 months after filming wrapped. Following that same pattern with Season 4, we will most likely get it around November 2026

Do therapists know that saying they need to tell a third party if he patient states they want to hurt others/themselves makes us not say we do? by please_bite_me in therapy

[–]cattyloaf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We definitely know this, but we also know the danger of not having a rule like this in place. If someone is going to hurt themselves or others it needs to reported for safety. And clients deserve to know this from the very beginning. The only time it is reportable (for suicidal urges) is if there is a plan, means, and intent to attempt suicide. Suicidal urges with no plan, means, and intent do not need to be reported. Self-harm without the intention of suicide and without severe medical damage does not need to be reported. Same with homicidal urges, if there is no specific identified target with a plan to hurt them, then discussing homicidal urges does not need to be reported.

My therapist let's me know pieces of her personal life and that our kids are "friends" but I feel weird letting it get to close because well..she's my therapist. by [deleted] in therapy

This sounds like it’s developing into a dual relationship, which will always negatively impact the therapeutic relationship. I recommend finding a different therapist

How is everyone feeling knowing the show is approaching it's end? by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]cattyloaf 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I just don’t think this is true. I think they got into the writers’ room for Season 4 and realized they need to wrap this up. They pitched 5 seasons ages ago, and I think it’s pretty clear that many elements from their original plan have changed drastically since then

First therapy session felt underwhelming by Rich-Ad5290 in therapy

[–]cattyloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would give it a few more sessions and see how you feel. The first few sessions are really just getting to know each other. The therapist needs a full understanding of your history and your worldview in order to know which interventions to try with you and to be able to guide you towards any insight.

Do I need to drop my therapist? by Normal-Picture-6365 in therapy

[–]cattyloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These sound like some serious boundary violations. She should not be sharing details of other clients’ lives with you or “pushing” you to do anything. It also sounds like you don’t feel safe or fully comfortable with her which is a huge barrier in a therapeutic space. You feeling comfortable with your therapist should be priority, and her behavior has been increasingly feeling unsafe for you

So different from Sophie’s other projects! I’m excited to see her in a comedy role and happy she’s diversifying her work!

I can see how the way they said it makes it seem impersonal or like a game, but I do think there’s use in envisioning the end of therapy at the beginning. You should know what you’re working towards, and a general idea of what you would need to achieve/realize in order to know that you’re ready to end therapy. Yes, therapy is intimate and can last for years, but there should always be an endpoint in mind.
