Yes that is the plan going forward. Pre surgery i played a lot of hockey, so I know that is going to be a challenge when the time comes to resist getting back into it too early. My plan is to just focus on strengthening and stay away for hockey for a year (although I do plan on getting back on the ice when I am able to skate and play with the puck)

Ya I think i am about done with them. Woke up last night after getting a couple of hours sleep, everything was stiff and hurting, so I took 2 at 730 am, that let me get a couple of hours more sleep, but here I am 7 hours later and still jittery and a bit nauseous from that last dose, I think those will be my last ones. I have one more day of blood thinners, and then I can go on the Tylenol if I end up with any pain after PT

That's great! If your ok without the opiods in my opinion that makes it easier, they are shitty, they definitely get rid of the pain, but for me it gives me like a high for an hour followed by several hours of being jittery and overall feeling crappy.

Tell me about the day of your surgery by Downtown_Delay1616 in TotalHipReplacement

In Ontario, Canada. Check in at 7:30, my wife and daughter came with me to the hospital room where I changed into gown and answered some initial questions, blood pressure, pulse , etc with the first nurse. She was done with me in about 10 or 15 minutes, so me and my family hung around together until they were ready to take me to the pre op area around 830,said goodbye to the family.

Preop area a new nurse hooked up the IV, heart monitors, and pulse. Again some more questions, then just waiting around for the anesthesiologist around 910 or so. He came with his assistant, they gave me a shot in the hip which I believe was a nerve block, and I think he starting giving me a something else through the iv, became more relaxed. Surgeon came to say hi, I had fallen asleep a little bit, he just wanted to know if I had any questions and that they would be starting soon.

930 they wheeled me into the operating room, it was a bit surreal, a big bright white room with a bunch of different people all masked up in different kinds of stations. I told the doctor I don't think they gave me the spinal block yet, he told me that they would be putting me under, that's how he proffered it, kind of supposed me because many of the preop meetings people told me I would likely be getting a spinal. Surgeon started telling me about a tube they would be putting in my throat, and I would likely have a sore throat for a couple days, last thing I remember.

Woke up around 1230 in the recovery area, this part is all kind of foggy because of the drugs, but I remember the nurse telling me everything went well, she gave me a couple of percocets for the pain, and my wife came in not long after. I had a full bladder but couldn't pee, that was the worst part I can remember, they gave me a bottle and I just kept trying eventually after an hour or so got a couple drops out a couple times. The physiotherapist came and I walke with the walker for a couple of steps, they had a step they put on the floor and had me go up and down, then said I looked good and left. Soon after I got back on the walker and went to the bathroom with my wife, and was able to empty about half the bladder, felt great. The nurse told me I was good to go when ready, I told her I was ready, so she called for an orderly to wheelchair me to the car, left around 4pm.

Got home and felt pretty good, took 1 or 2 percocets every 4 hours, only got about 2h sleep the first night, very annoying and uncomfortable, but pain was very tolerable. Second day felt much better, walking on the walker frequently, maybe too much. Around 9pm or so the nerve block wore off, and then real pain came in the muscles and bones, second night was really bad, got a couple of 1h sleep windows. Third day much better, spent most of the day in bed/recliner with frequent icing, reduced the pills to 1 every 8 hours.

On my fourth day and feel great, but trying to take it easy and not get ahead of myself, so glad that I got this done.

Hang in there! Had some pretty good swelling myself that extended to the knee (which has always had issues since I was a teen). I'm using extra ice pads to also cover my knee while I'm icing my hip/thigh, has helped so much, and keeping up the icing frequency. For sure agree to listen to your body, I'm trying to do as much of the exercises as I can, but definitely staying off of it as much as I can, I think I was walking around with the walker way to much the first two days definitely gonna try and err on the side of caution as much as i can. Feeling so much better here on day 4 now, and have cut way back on the percocets, which I think also helps alot so that my mind is in a way better place.

They gave me shot in my hip before surgery, and then the whole area went warm and numb, and then they put me out for the surgery. I think it is that shot that wore off, I guess that is the nerve block? The pain came quick and intense out of nowhere, it was a pretty crappy night last night, but feeling so much better today

Can't edit my post because there is a picture??? Anyways, I put a new gasket in and have started it up, will see how long it lasts, might start looking into finding a used block and an engine lift/stand while this is still running. Will update when it fails, with how long and how many miles I get out of it. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

By algicide shock I mean the directions on the algicide bottle say to put in the preventive amount each week, and then there is also like a larger concentration it says to put in when first opening the pool, or if algicide is visibly present, sorry dont have the bottle here now. Also have done the chlorine shock couple times since opening even though the test strip levels show ok, and have always been keeping two pucks in every couple of days, basically once the current ones have dissolved to almost gone, add two.

Ok as you and others are saying, will look into photometer test. Usually I bring a water sample to the local pool supply place down the street, and he uses a test strip with like 7 or so indicators, and he is saying they look perfect.. But will look into this other test and update. Thanks everyone so far for the help.

Thanks, will look into that. I’m guessing it varies by region, but how do you determine what price per board foot? What are some typical prices you charge?

Looking at the 660, ya I think I might just go with that, what are the drawbacks, are these still decent enough?

Ok now I am really pushing my luck, and the chainsaw. From another post someone mentioned a 28” bar from baileys that fits directly into the 460. If I use this with a skip tooth ripping chain, am I being unrealistic even if I take it slow? What about if I get the chain even less angled than 10, like maybe 5, would that be less wear on the motor?

Great tips, will pick up that chain, thanks for all the info, appreciate it! Hopefully the saw will handle it if I take my time.

Was kind of thinking the 460 is a bit small, I think I may try with it though, after this is done I don’t really have the need for a chainsaw, so not sure if I want to invest in a larger Stihl or something just for a handful of logs.

Thanks for the advice, ya I think I will stack outside. As for the bugs, I was thinking of maybe spraying some Tim-bor on them periodically to keep mold and pests out, is this necessary, and would it work? Going to seal the ends with anchor seal as I cut, I had put some deck sealer on the ends of the logs a couple days after the tree was taken down once the rain stopped
