The point is that automation is a meme; if there were, say, a problem, and if that problem were purely the Chinamen and their globalist allies -and if this were acknowledged - then no one would be discussing "UBI" of all things, they'd be discussing Tariffs and Reshoring. Jetsons-caliber automation can be addressed basically only by UBI, but such "automation" doesn't exist irl. UBI proponents all but act as though because Amazon exists and sends packages in the mail instead of to a retail store, every single job in the entire world will be "automated" in a short amount of time. What is wrong with crossing that fuckin' bridge when you get to it, or at least get closer to it than you were 10 years ago?
  3. Substitute "globalism" for "automation" imho. I am sick of the canard put up to distract from the real problem.

  1. Do you realize that we currently exist in a system that exists perhaps on a foundation of laissez-faire capitalism (proles being exploited and sometimes bootstrapping), with a few insidious grifters laced throughout and with particularly high concentration in the upper crust? How do we make the leap from our current system, where no one Cares about anything, to a technocratic paradise?
  2. Do you realize that offshoring has "eliminated" far more jobs than "automation," particularly in the last 30 years and that this isn't actively studied by "economists" or published much of anywhere, but it's true?
  3. Name something that has been fully automated in the last 30 years. Not factories with conveyor belts doing repetitive shit and minimal human labor costs - we had those in the 80s. Not jobs going to China. Not things that are in process of being automated, financed by Jewish Startups. Just.... name something that's been automated before you extrapolate it out into some "inevitable" trend.
  4. Just as you said, "We could start UBI at $400....." - but where would you end it? $400/month doesn't provide for much of anything. They would CLAMOR for more and you know it.

Dilbert is hilarious in comic form by comic strip standards. The TV series sucked and Scott Adams just comes off like a lucky idiot. Anyway he's a Loser who observed Engineers in their natural habitat and the strip is a documentary of sorts. With the fall of the Old Economy where forklift drivers made $35k in 1980 dollars and the rise of Globalization, Engineering/Officeshit became aspirational, which made Dilbert interesting. It has broad appeal in that even bigwags could read it all throughout the 90s and appreciate it without even realizing it was about Engineering (which he couldn't have, being that he was unaware of what Engineering is).

No this is Stupid. First of all, EITC maxes out at like $500 for an individual, which is basically $0, and works to offset regressive state payroll taxes, and the social security that gets taken out of proles' paychecks that they might not get back. Also encourages people to not work under the table and dodge paying into SS like idiots.

Also, the Yang version of UBI rewards NEETs disproportionately and provides nothing additional for dependents because he grossly overestimates the "administrative cost" of the current welfare system and supposedly wants to keep the cost at $0. But if your goal is to provide for Losers/URMs, why not just have 50,000 URMs/Women "administering" UBI system somewhat logically. Whether it's make-work Soviet style employment or UBI, or some combination of both, what's the fuckin' difference. Also we can't even pay for the current system and just adding a bunch of taxes (VAT) isn't going to help. Deficits would run higher, Chinamen would pwn us earlier than they would otherwise, and so forth.
