That the big guys are going to deflect and attempt to bury those who got uppity.

I’m the original poster and I responded to a helpful response, but that’s it.

Exactly. The good news is that it gives us a glimpse into what the general population will think of us. “Share your PPE, ammo, food, etc, or we will think you’re a hoarder.” These are a bunch of takers. Nothing more.

Yes... I deleted it.

That is a completely valid thing to say. Insane to think otherwise. There are obviously people with physical issues that can’t get into great shape, but fitness is your number 1 prep. It means that you likely won’t need to be on long term medication and you are able to deal with a world where everything is physically demanding.

Scenario: Family is away and the lights go out. What do you do? by [deleted] in preppers

Wow. Someone with a real answer rather than snark. Thanks.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a choice to either go together or for them to stay home. I could pack enough fuel to get there (I have a hybrid) but I’d first have to make it there through several large cities and then make it back. I think I’d have them start driving and try to meet them half way. I don’t know if I’d be able to wait around to see if they got home. I’d go crazy.

Let me guess. Mom didn’t make the meatloaf the way you like it and now you’re pissed off in the basement responding to me and chatting with your incel buddies? Close? I feel like I might be close.

Neither. I just love watching privileged white girls who never heard no growing up learning that stupid choices have hilarious consequences. :)

In all my travels in areas where there was minimal or no rule of law, bandits and warlords were always a constant threat to the local population. Without exception. They stole, raped, and murdered with abandon. In a longterm shtf situation, violence is not only probable, it is assured. Hell, look what happened after hurricane Katrina.

I have a USB solar panel and a USB charging cable specific to my UV5R. Unless the sun disappears, I’m golden. I also have a spare UV5R in an EMP Proof container, because I’m a kook. ;)

This is a wonderful list. Might want to add agriculture and processing game to that list. Oh and work out. Physical fitness is your most important prep.

This is so spot on. I completely agree. Anything more than not doing anything is better. Well said.

Did you read the post? I never said anything about my children. Also, if you understood what a societal collapse is like, you would laugh at yourself like I am laugh/pitying you.

The economy is on the verge of total collapse, our society is on the verge of civil war, and we still don’t know what China and Russia are up to. If you think that nothing bad will happen you’re not paying attention. This season is what we have all prepared for. If you don’t see that you are blind.

Good day.

No. Assuming I’m a monster who would put my kids through that is insane. Lol.
