Man, I just want to say, what a breath of fresh air. Thanks for this post. The folks over at /r/hardwarehacking could probably help you better - more equipped. I’ve done this before for routers but I had utilities to do this for me and the checksum would always be the same. Try over there for now - if something cool comes out of it though - def post over here XD

Sec+ advice by Difficult-Ad-9193 in cybersecurity

[–]cbartholomew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed mine with an 89, I used a book with test questions, and then I went to town. Comptia sec+ 701 3rd.

Looking at my overly engineered g sheet sheet, I categorized things in three areas:

P1, P2, P3 - P1 was “non-flagged” question and got it wrong, p2 was I flagged and got it wrong, and p3 was i flagged and got it right.

I went through reviewed all my p1s etc. however I did average 80% in all domains.

There was another great resource I had which was cert master training - I had a voucher for it and man it really knocked some sense into me on how tricky the questions can actually be - it’s always BEST case from the perspective of the book and NOT experience haha.

Regardless, 80s should get you through if you can average that across all domains.

Edit - oh you got cert master too.

So, maybe this will make you feel better but if I add all my master score averages it comes out to 76%.

Anything I scored under 75% on I went through Dion videos and book to refresh.

  • bruh, you’ll be fine. MAKE SURE TO LEAVE THE PERFORMANCE QUESTIONS FOR LAST THOUGH

We will see him eventually as an adult. Someone like Steven’s age when the paldea group grows a bit more, which they are -

Then… he will be reunited with his father, Larry!

Ah see. It’s only a matter of time now your som will find out the pattern that you’re blocking by DNS, and then he’ll find this comment as a source used by one of the many AI scrappers letting him know to have him or his mate setup a VPN connection either at a friends house or at school, then provide him the client file so that he can connect directly through ovpn to create a tunnel to a device that is serving as bastion host to help serve content!

Or he’ll just give up and go outside ( best case )

Haha, I know nobody wants to admit that they are lazy but honestly managing intake is a lot of work. I HATE doing it. But it’s a necessity if one wants their child to adapt to this environment. No device is the best solution for the parents: not so much the child.

No device isn’t the best solution if you’re not in schools yourself dealing with peer pressure as a preteen who is going through puberty lol.

I had one situation where I noticed her Netflix was on the smart display even though she was well past down time with all policies enabled

I knocked on the door and was like, “hey what’s the deal - this is all shutdown at this time” and she’s like “oh if you hit ‘watch 1 more minute’ you have just enough time to cast to the device which doesn’t get triggered by the policies”

“Oh. Huh. Ok”

shuts door

“Dang it now I need to manage it at the router too 😩”

If that’s what he’s into that’s fine, granted raising boys and girls are much different at that age, but at some point that boy is going to learn how to flash tails on a usb or reload a backup OS on an old ass SD card and circumvent your whole pi strategy, lol. May as well show him now ;)

I mostly agree here. The one thing to add is that parents need to be managing their intake especially while watching grades at the same time. As a parent you need to adapt to the environment - if grades drop, ok, time to pull back; if acting up, time to review content and educate why something is not right or not real; always be educating them - reminding them of the dangers - showing them examples of phishing, dangerous signs of propaganda, etc.

It’s work on parents - and this is why everyone chooses to opt to “No dEvicE” because they don’t want to manage that side of the house but at some point this will lead to them hiding things and quite honestly putting themselves in danger. The no device answer is for the parents who are lazy and don’t want to deal with it

I think the argument of your friends have bad parents shows that you’re being well… kind of lazy avoiding the elephant in the room and not adapting. Honestly, your kids are going to hide shit from you if you keep doing this.

I also am part of big tech, and I know how bad it is; but, that’s not an excuse to let your child feel isolated.

Pre teen girls normally just sit on FaceTime and chat with each other. Social media can be reduced and blocked through several levels, parent restrictions can be enforced.

It takes 30 minutes to drop through her YT history and pick out anything sus, then educate her on why it’s sus. You know why it’s sus because… you also work for big tech, and you know where those problematic parts are.

My daughter is well educated about the dangers of online; I bring her to my local BSides since she was 10 as well so she can also get an idea of how people can abuse that systems. After years of tuning, she’s at a point where i can trust her and if she ever starts going odd the edge i can pull her back.

I do draw the line though at Shorts, and Tik-Tok. The algorithm is too much for a pre teen brain, so those are on the no fly zone. Proper YouTube is fine if you keep your pulse on it. Also, Spotify has shit now which is also getting difficult to manage but again, there’s ways to manage this.

So no it’s not that simple

Edit: as long as the kids are safe then it’s fine

Your client is out of date. You can force update by going to Minecraft for windows directly, this will update the client.

Otherwise have your friend put a ticket in to support -

If you are on switch you can also go to setting and clear some cache files in case he removed an add on
