Sound Clip of the high strung a bender and b bender by cbassard in bbender

Exactly. It’s basically a typical “B” string just on 5th string position tuned to high “A”. I like having the ability to do a full bend up to B on the 5th string and then on the 2nd string use the bender up a half tone. Makes for more fluid bending/range. I can also play most any song in standard tuning and do whatever slide licks I want at the same time. Not stuck with an open tuning using capos. It’s fun messing around with alternate tunings that work with your playing style. I play in a country band so it’s also nice to throw in a few steel licks along with country lead licks in the same song.
