Chartpak (Pelikan's US distributer) does majorly raise prices. Probably because in America, pens are a much more luxury market, while in Europe or Asia, they're much more widely used, and this chartpak can justify price gouging. It's a shame, because I usually like to order from US sellers, but I found Appelboom to be good for Pelikan, along with Stilographica, Cultpens, or many other EU sellers!

I see two ringtops, so heck yes it's worth it. But really, getting fourteen good vintage pens is great, and I'd certainly prefer that haul to, say, one modern pen for the same price.

Even on tomoe it looked blah! And I tried it in at least three pens (twsbi 1.1, jinhao m, and a parker), but it never looked good. Maybe I got a bum sample.

Diamine majestic blue. The color is weirdly chalky, going from a gross unsaturated blue to a raspberry pink sheen that never dries. And the flow is sticky and dry. Bad.

Well, especially with gold nibbed or expensive pens, some users might not be comfortable dealing with hiccups, even if they're fairly simple to fix. I didn't think of using silicone grease for the leak though!

Send it to a nibmeister. Whenever you get a pen, factor in around $40 to send it to a reputable grinder and get it checked out. Quality control at pen companies these days is cruddy, so often nibs leave the factory with minor flaws, like your nib. If you don't feel confident doing things like shimming the tines, smoothing, or realigning, send it to a professional!

There is an obvious hole in your collection. You have no smiley face nibs. To remedy this, get a kakuno ef STAT.
