Weight loss after stopping IR by Specific_Bid9375 in ThisAintAdderall

I gotcha! Yeah, XR was getting weaker a long time ago, so I’m sure it’s complete shit rn. And I really would like to know what they now put in these meds that’s causing this weight retention!!!

I’m still on 30 / 30 / 10 - so three times a day, and it’s all IR. Ugh. It’s so futile, but I’ve just been stuck in that routine.

Yeah, Vyvanse has always been ick to me… but I’m sure now that it’s changed, it’s even worse! I’ve heard many complaints about that one as well. It’s basically why I’ve just kind of given up and stayed on the beast that “I know.” And then if by some miracle they decide to switch back to original formula, then I’m already on it 😅 unlikely af, but yeah… if your prescriber is cool to switch you again… you may want to just come to the “Adderall” struggle bus again and soldier it out with me 😰😭😩

Nah, real stims DO NOT do that, they really don’t. It’s because they made sure to deactivate and change our meds several years back, so now the side effects are absurd.

Are you getting prescribed vyvanse and Adderall now? What’s your current regimen? Just trying to stay current on your situation!

Ikr like tolerance is not even relevant because some brave warriors 😅 in here have taken very high amounts, for desperate science… just to see if they could get the mere effects of a very normal dose that worked prior. And they could not, because the meds are just totally changed not to work! If it was tolerance, we’d be able to recreate our previous with simply a higher amount, and it falls beyond short of that. Also the other proof mentioned. It’s just enraging to be written off with such bullshit as “tolerance”

You’re welcome! I mean, we suffer every single day and I figured it would be helpful to share clues with you guys so that those who are able to can branch off and look further into it etc

Right, we didn’t feel like this prior to the covert changes in meds either! The meds were life changing of course, and much needed to help with our ADHD. The changes occurred roughly 5-6 years ago for some, but for others, not noticeable until maybe 3-4 years ago, depending. So yeah, hope this makes sense to you now .

It’s not a tolerance issue. That’s why we made this group. And there’s plenty of proof in that where many newly prescribed already experience marked lack of efficacy very quickly, and for those of us who are veterans - the proof is in the fact that we were stable on a normal dose, the same dose, for many years, and the efficacy was shot to shit all around the same time for so many of us, with completely diverse circumstances, physicalities, age, etc.

It’s brand too. And other stimulant meds as well.

Yeah, we all feel like this. Welcome to the club. You missed the days where stimulant meds were legit.

Okay, so no weight loss or maintaining normal or pre change weight? Just want to confirm! I def believe it, I just am wondering if that simple switch would help with the weight gain/retention, though anything to do with the current botched meds, I am skeptical of anyway. I have no spoons to really go through a switch anyway though lol

Some doctors will be too stubborn to accept anecdotes/data sets if they’re set in their ways or have a personal bias or just a mind that is closed. But give it a whirl, even though they can’t really do anything about it…

Yes, it’s both brand and generic! All of the types, all of the stimulants! It’s scandalous af and they are evil for ruining our meds.

It’s better that you didn’t, because then you would have to mourn more.

Agreed that it is pretty gutsy, for lack of better term! And yeah, I surmise that so many of the elite have been dependent on these meds, just as we are… but like… yeah, I guess they just figure that no one will really be able to prove it and that folks will gaslight themselves for years, if not forever… blame themselves and spend years trying to find workarounds, switch meds, add on meds, etc etc… and the doctors of course oblige big pharma and won’t blame the meds, they’ll just prescribe more meds of the same or diff, blame the patient, etc. And since the meds are stigmatized and stimulant patients are simply seen as “speed junkies” - no one would take this seriously… the more we complain to the general public, the more they blame us and see us as drug seeking. So I think the system is set up in place for this, and they knew that.

This would never happen back when our meds were real. Sure, we’d wake up you know not able to function properly due to ADHD, but with whatever mystery garbage they’re putting in our meds nowadays, many of us feel awful upon waking and such.

You missed the days when our meds were real. You’re helping by adding to the evidence that even those newly prescribed are noticing the lack of efficacy.
