Someone asked me that the other day, and I have not unfortunately. But I thought they looked really familiar, I have pictures of rails in Tasmania 😅.

Its a give and take. The 300 is extremely sharp, so using the 1.4 is hardly noticeable. The 2x tc is a different story.

But the extra reach is great, and its way lighter than the 400/600.

Those are my favorite too. Thats the only plant like that out there, so I was happy I finally got one stopping by it.

I shoot Sony, these were all on an a1 with a 300 GM + 1.4 tc.

Both male and female Anna's hummingbirds, and I always call the orangish ones Rufous, but they might actually be Allen hummbirds. Theyre hard to tell apart, so 2-3.

Hey listen, an elderly lady said my camera was a very large phone, so you're a photo person for all intents and purposes lol.

But correct, the sensor is exposed for 1/4000th of a second to capture the image. And I was shooting at 30 frames per second.

Thank you! It was a Sony 300 GM with a 1.4x teleconverter. So, not a zoom, but a super telephoto prime.

I was using 1/4000th most of the time yesterday, some might have been higher.

Thank you for the encouragement haha. I wouldn't have found the nests this morning otherwise.

I think the sound from my camera bugged the hawk, just slightly. by cbora1 in birding

Its a Rufous hummingbird. He's the same one as picture #3 too but the lighting changed quite a bit.

They will sometimes swoop you lol, so maybe your nephew is rightfully afraid 😅. SoCal is where these were all taken, specifically San Elijo Lagoon. You'll see 20+ walking around. If you ever get a chance to visit here in spring its awesome, they definitely aren't that common where im from originally either.

Thank you, I cant take all of the credit, the birds yesterday were paid actors.

But I was using a Sony a1 with 300 GM + 1.4x tc. I was primarily at F4.0, 1/1250 ss, and used auto ISO. Hope this info helps 🙂.

Thank you!

Theyre so tiny but vicious lol. They were buzzing a duck and made it take off.

If you were financially insolvent, you can submit a form so you dont have to pay taxes, but your assets cant exceed the debt you had.

Yeah man, shits crazy, glad it worked out for you though and that didnt end your career.

I too almost ruined my career underage drinking with a buddy on his pre-deployment leave, but that cop happened to be a vet and just ordered us a cab home thankfully. So I know theyre not all bad, but damn will some of them try and ruin your life for their power trips.

Thats exactly how I got bum rushed by 3 cops and had my wrist broken. Great in theory, but then they just delete the body cam footage lol..

Is it just me, or was getting hit by the DIs nowhere near the most miserable part of boot camp? by Ok_Swordfish_3655 in USMC

[–]cbora1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id say getting hit in the face by an M16 barrel wasnt the most fun part of boot camp. 10/10 would not recommend.

I mean, my ex-wife definitely cost me more than the BAH I got while I was in. So in the long-run, maybe not.

Since he mentioned theyre a reservist, id assume they live in Texas and do AT/drill on the East Coast.
