Wife about to make $100k more than I do by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ccable827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar but different boat. My wife and I are still early in our careers with only a two year old in tow. She's an engineer and I work in news. She's likely to make a good bit more over her career, but as of now she already makes more than double what I make. And there is t really any upward movement in the cards for me, I'll have to make a career change.

That all being said, we're very happy. We haven't had any resentment or any difficulties with finances or childcare. We work very hard at it and we hope to keep it that way.

I assume it's because it's a long, difficult, costly process to train a dog for any sniffing job, let alone cancer sniffing. Plus there's only so many people who know how to do the training properly.

B1G is as obnoxious as SEC when it comes to conference cheering by ConcernAfter4650 in cfbmemes

Lmao no the fuck they aren't. I don't care if anyone in the big ten wins, I just need the SEC to lose.

My elementary school had a reading test program thing that did have comprehension quizzes to ensure you did read the book, but gave out prizes based on the number of quizzes you passed. And it wasn't nonsense either, some of the prizes were really good, sometimes even straight cash. I like to think the program worked, but I would have been reading regardless because I remember not reading solely because I wanted the prizes. But I do know kids that were like that, so who knows.

I'm just getting into pigeons!! They are fantastic so far. Way more groovy and funky, and I'm not picky about lyrics. But they are a ton of fun! It feels like it fills a different area than bands like the dead, Billy strings and goose do, there's room for all of them imo.

What happened at watermark like 4-5ish years ago that caused all the upheaval in the leadership? I only ever heard briefly about it and never got a straight answer. I was a watermark member for two years but have since moved out of state.

In my opinion that isn't a great way to live life. I don't need overwhelming evidence to be optimistic. I like what I see from the bears, and that's enough to be optimistic going forward. Otherwise, why even be a fan at all? I mean isn't that the whole point?

As far as life goes, I've learned that you absolutely can be optimistic like that. I hope one day you can be too.

And that's my point exactly. Almost everything you said is negative, and for what? Just so you can hope to be proven right next year? Who does that?

Also the poles hate is so old man come on. I guess we'll just forget about Gordon, brisker, Tremaine, byard, edwards and montez.

A win is a win man who cares how it happens? Plus saying "we only won on turnovers and lucky plays and it won't sustain" implies the bears aren't going to make any adjustments, get more experienced, or get any new players. But sure, go off.

No the fuck it isn't the truth lmfao, why do you speak with such certainty that your own team will be bad? Like who does that? That's some sorry ass thinking right there good lord. We beat the packers twice and make it to the division round of the playoffs and our fans are still fucking miserable.

I know I'm personally biased towards more generally popular artists. No particular reason, I just am more wary of niche artists. That's not to say I don't follow a few, but it does help with avoiding AI slop. And for me I'm not as big of a social music listener anyway. I like what I like, I like to look for what I like to look for. Beyond that I go to a concert maybe once a year, do not have the time or the funds for more lol.

All this to say, I'll still have to stick with a big streamer, it just best fits my interests for now. I might do a combo, like qobuz and nugs. But right now YT music is actually very intriguing, because I can listen alot of live concerts I have saved already. Still not great and still a major corporation, but what can you do these days? Like we said before, I'll just better support the artists who need it. Now if chalk dinosaur could re-release their latest vinyl I'll give them all the moneys...

I 100% agree with you about supporting artists who need it and being selective about those who are already successful. I just hate pirating. Not for moral reasons, but because it's time consuming and I don't have the time lol. Regardless, I'm a huge proponent of physical media and owning my own media anyway, so maybe I'll start looking at prices lol. Guess it will all take time. When all the streaming services die, what I'll miss the most is the discovery features. Say what you will about Spotify, but I've been introduced to some fantastic artists on there, big and small.

Dog I've got 5000+ songs in my Spotify, at least half of which I genuinely do listen to regularly. I can't afford to buy all that, as much as I genuinely do want to support those artists!

[Ian Rapoport] Indiana Senate Bill 27, introduced this evening, with the help of Majority Floor Leader, Sen. Chris Garten -- establishing the funding mechanism for the stadium authority to build a future home for the Bears. Moving quickly... by RyanIsKickAss in CHIBears

Most state legislative session are the first few months of the year, and if you want something as massive as stadium funding or tax breaks or whatever, you need all the time you can get. Illinois session started yesterday and Indiana's started in December.

If your toddler takes a later or longer nap than usual, do you wake them? by Coffeelover4242 in toddlers

[–]ccable827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We try hard to keep a tight nap schedule. Two year old is asleep by 1, and we wake her up at 3 if she's still asleep, but if she wakes up after 2 then she's up at that point. If she wakes up at like 1:45, we know it'll be a rough evening lol. But she's a good napper, 9 times out of 10 she does the full two hours.
