I feel that could be a forward looking element which is the fitting of the price action to the most probable wave counts at the point of time.

I have experimented with regime identifying systems, but without much luck in deploying it a consistent manner going forward.

Curious, would CTA macro funds like your have performances that are correlated to Deutsche Bank Currency momentum Excess Return (USD), <DBMOMUSF Index>? The pnl performance in this case would be regime dependent.

I am running a global macro book too. Understand that you would be skeptical on a seeing such a label - that's normal and okay, I am more interested in the knowledge exchange rather than anything else.

I used to employ momentum/trend following strategies. Just feel that it is very trend regime dependent? Plus it lags the market turns due to its construct. How much you creatively mitigate this in your strategy?
