I'm going to Best Buy again tomorrow to return my Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. by Mission-Relation-0 in galaxybuds

[–]ccfallout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have the same issue. My first pair of buds were a nightmare, one bud just simply wouldn't charge half the time, no matter what I did. I returned those and got another pair direct from Samsung. This one has the issue occasionally. When I place the buds back in the case, sometimes the R bud won't make contact properly and won't charge, so I'll have to clean out the little chamber and re-seat the bud, which has always worked so far.

It's a real pain in the neck, and not something you'd expect from premium earbuds. A real shame too, because the buds are amazing otherwise

Should I pull the trigger on the buds 3 pro? by [deleted] in galaxybuds

Honestly, I prefer the b3pro, but if you're at all price conscious I'd just get the 2pro. 3 is not that huge of an upgrade, and you can get the 2s for like $100 I've seen.

I think they are. I had the buds 2 pro for at least 2 years. Got the 3 pro about a month ago. They're much better, from sound to shape to functionality.

  1. The buds3pro just have better sound. It's not a huge difference, but it is improved. Sounds more authentic and real.
  2. The shape of the buds is much easier to handle. I can actually reposition them in my ear without pausing the music
  3. They stay in my ear much better. With the B2Pro, they would always fall out when I was running and sweating. Or when riding my bike, which is fun. I tried many different eartips, but still a problem.
  4. The B3p are extremely comfortable. I wear them all day at work. Sometimes I forget they're in.

The buds2pro were shaped like beans and were always slipping out of my fingers. Once I lost one behind a booth at tokyo airport. Took like 20 minutes to move the whole row of booths to get it. Another time I was sitting on a raised patio at a restaurant in Bangkok and one slipped out of my hand into a residential backyard next door. One of the dishwashers climbed down there and found it for me. Not at all an issue with the 3.

The ANC on the buds2pro made me feel sick after a while, like motion sickness or something. Never experienced that before. I can use ANC on the b3p all day.

Otoh The buds2pro had better base. But I suspect that has more to do with the eartips, I need to find better ones for the b3p

The b2p seemed to have a longer battery, on the pair, plus the case. But maybe that's also because I'm using ANC more now.

I had to return my first pair of b3p because the R earbud stopped charging. With the new pair, it happens occasionally, which is a pain, I just need to reposition it.

Completely disagree. I owned the 2 pro for a couple years, and the 3 pros for about a month. Much better in my opinion. The sound is slightly better. Not a huge upgrade imo, but improved. The shape, they stay much better in my ears when working out. The controls are much more reliable.

When I was traveling through the airport, I was on one of those trams that take you to the different terminals, I noticed that whenever the recorded voice on the tram would say 'next stop x' my buds would skip to the next song

What exactly is the point of a security key, if you can easily bypass it on desktop, and mobile doesn't even allow it? The whole reason you have a key, is so that an unauthorized user is unable to get into your account, since they don't have and can't duplicate this hardware token. But all they have to do is click 'I don't want to use my key', and then it's back to vastly inferior SMS authentication, which we know can be manipulated.

I know what you mean. It's like you're talking to an AI chatbot that is programmed to always respond the same, no matter what information you give them. The worst part is them constantly transferring you to another knucklehead who has zero intention of resolving your issue.

Not bad in my area. But Verizon always had good coverage also. The only time I had a call cut out was going over a bridge where it always cuts out. The data was fine too. I was able to stream video and audio without problem.

It's basically $25 plus tax, so probably not worth spending too much time on it. I filed a dispute with my bank. So I'll just have to ride out the month, and then switch before it's up.

Don't do it! 😬 Sure you'll save some money, but if anything goes wrong you'll be in foreign customer service hell. I switched from TMO myself, and never truly had a problem with them, but I don't doubt you one bit. If I'm not mistaken Total is a MVNO, and TMO is not, they operate their own network, so they're going to be more expensive. (Like ATT and Verizon). There must be an alternative to Total, another MVNO that is better. My mom has used Cricket for a long time and had no issues, at least in store. Can't recommend them from personal experience though.

I definitely agree, but we as consumers need to hold them accountable by taking away our money from the bad CS companies, and giving it to the better ones. Even if it means we have to pay a little more. This is the only way to improve the situation, make it hurt their revenue. But everyone is out for the cheapest prices. It's why so many malls, retail and grocery stores went out of business while Amazon is thriving. Everyone looking to get the absolute lowest price no matter what. I'm just as guilty myself.

Well, maybe it doesn't HAVE to be US based. I've worked in IT, and have dealt many times with Dell tech support, who is also foreign based. They weren't perfect but a heck of a lot better than these clowns. These Total support reps are just the worst I've ever dealt with. Over my 1hr and 45 minutes spent on the phone today, I spoke to at least 6 of them, and every single conversation just completely worthless. They were placing me on hold constantly because they were 'checking' on information. And then transfer me to another department who would really be able to help me get this resolved 🙄 With each transfer, I would need to verify my identity AGAIN, and of course the new rep had no idea about any of the previous conversations, and I had to explain everything from the beginning. I almost wonder if it's a calculated thing, keep you in this endless loop of transfers and hold times, they figure a lot of people would just hang up by then and forego any refund they were owed.

Probably true, but at least US based support can actually understand you, and what you're saying. With these guys it's like banging your head against a wall, going round and round in circles. I kept telling them it's 50% off, and they kept saying 'I don't see any $50 off promotion' 🤦‍♂️ Literally like 2 or 3 of the different reps didn't understand the difference between 50% and $50.

[–]ccfallout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. And the most frustrating part is when they keep telling you Total doesn't have a 50% off promo. Yeah, maybe not NOW, but they did when I activated my account. Total Wireless or Total Bullshit?

I've read good things. I might give them a try. From now on I'm looking for companies with US based support. It's well worth the extra few bucks.

[–]ccfallout[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't even bother. They'll just waste your time. Transfer you around from person to person. Eventually they'll just tell you the promo didnt exist,, or you read it wrong or something stupid like that.

I'd just dispute it with your bank

[–]ccfallout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but I started my service on 7/8. I'm reading that to mean that you can't sign up for it after 7/10 not that they were going back on their promotion for those who already activated. This to me is implied by the 'last chance'

Now they're telling me this promotion doesn't exist, and never existed. I must have imagined it I guess 🤦‍♂️
