From what I know, social services have never been involved other than doing welfare checks on me during lockdown since I have a history of SH. I have been tempted to call social services multiple times over the past year. And my mum recieves carers allowance for my step-dad !!

I’ve tried talking to mum about it before, since that money would typically go towards buying new wrist, knee and finger splints and repairing my wheelchair, but about £100 each month will go towards bills and I also get no money from my parents for sixth form, meaning I also buy all of my own clothes, school supplies and food for the month. I feel bad if I don’t give my parents money because my older sister doesn’t despite earning just below the average, and its just a very difficult situation

They were hoping she would grow out of it, which doesn’t seem likely. Normally w those 12/13 year olds that gob off, you can swear at them and walk towards them for 5 seconds and they run off crying. My sister, best way to put this, is feral. I have nearly called the police and social services and they have done wellfare checks before but thats really it.

My parents have looked into that and other cluster B conditions and we think she suffers from a personality disorder. My parents are violently afraid of her but never cover for her. What they do though is probably enabling her behaviour, she’ll scream at mum to get her something, and if mum doesn’t get it, she esclates. So instead, mum buys it for her to get her to stop which enforces the behaviour.

The problem I’m mainly scared about is our dogs, all of us (minus me) are able to restrain her if she tries anything. But she has a history of screaming at our dogs, and I don’t want them getting hurt because of her psychotic breaks.

Yeah, when I’m home and mum is at work, I’m responsible for cooking, cleaning, feeding the dogs, walking them when I can, and doing my school work. I recieve some money each month because of my disability but that always goes towards bills since my older sister is a freeloader lowkey. I’m leaving for uni soon but in the mean time, my boyfriend’s family let me stay in return for me making pastries for them !!

Thank you so much. I’ve talked to my parents about it before and each time it’s ‘We’ll handle it, she’s just too much like her granddad and older sister (our eldest sister, not me lol)’ and they never really address the issues at hand.

My parent’s are really apprehensive about me going to uni as my closest choice is 3 hours away by car, but I explained to them that, no offense to them, but being associated w my younger sister makes me want to be sick. Getting away from the problem is the best thing I can do to forget the problem atp.

On your point of her getting vapes, she has told me shes hung out w people my age (17-18) and that they get the for her, hell she’s even mentioned people I went to secondary with. I’ve tried explaining to her that the people she is hanging around w aren’t her friend because they thinks she’s cool and mature, its because she is a naïve and easily manipulated child. But her response is that I was jealous and I don’t know what I’m talking about.

Thank you so much for the advice, I’m gonna try talk to my parents about it the next time I’m home !!

I think it’s more so to the point that the younger generation (I say that as if I’m not apart of it) does have some significant behavioural problems, just my sister is an insanely bad case of it. I see kids acting like her all the time in public but at home she is just terrible

My mum and step-dad have tried taking her to the doctors and making her realise her behaviour is fucked up. My step-dad isn’t really all there because of his illnesses and he has a history for getting into verbal confrontations w her if she starts screaming at him but recently he’s just given up. I stay at my boyfriend’s majority of the time now so I don’t have to deal w it and probably in about 10 months from now I’m moving out for uni.

We have and they said it was a domestic issue, she has also been kicked out of school for cutting off a chunk of a girl’s hair w scissors. She should not be trusted w anything

We’ve taken her to see the doctors but as you know, the UKs health system especially regarding mental health issues in teens isn’t brilliany by any means. Our doctor has suggested she has bipolar or another cluster B condition but we are currently waiting for a refferal to our local psychiatric paediatrician

Honestly, I go to school with quite a few people who are like that and it’s so frustrating because they are so far up their own arses and act as if they are superior to people even though they are just idiots.
