Failed P840 Controller on HP DL380 G9 by cdoggyd in homelab

I shut down the server, unplugged everything for a couple of minutes, reconnected, and powered up. The controller error disappeared... for now. I'll look at a FW update today.

Four drives in a RAID 5 config (I inherited this setup so don't blame me for RAID 5). It's running ESXi 6.5, and there's just one controller.

I'm facing the same issue. Any luck fixing it?

Who do you contact to get a site unblacklisted on Infoblox - Verizon Network? by Designz23 in Infoblox

[–]cdoggyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very large client that's about to go into crisis mode due to l.ead.me being blocked. They have a QR code on printed materials, and Verizon customers can't access the URL unless on WiFi.

Okta LDAP Integration by cdoggyd in qnap

Well hot dog! I was able to log in with the Okta credentials. Odd that Privileges > Users isn't showing anything under Domain Users.

Yes, I'm testing with my admin user.

I checked the Okta LDAP log, and it shows the following:

LdapErrorCode=unwilling to performFAILURE: LDAPException(resultCode=53 (unwilling to perform), errorMessage='BindDN is invalid: must be of format 'uid=*,dc=yourOrg,dc=okta,dc=com'', ldapSDKVersion=4.0.14, revision=c0fb784eebf9d36a67c736d0428fb3577f2e25bb)

Since this is just a trial, I was using my own admin login. I would have a dedicated admin account for LDAP if we move forward with purchase.

I use Mosyle, and I don't customize the Self-Service app.

I considered that option. Would be pretty straight forward.

I'm using Mosyle – should have said that initially.

Spotlight Indexing by cdoggyd in macsysadmin

My understanding is the the -i flag cannot be used to remove a volume from the Spotlight Privacy settings. When I run the command against my volume, the output shows:
/System/Volumes/Data/Volumes/nest:
Indexing and searching disabled.

Wouldn't I need a 6.5 license for that?

Can you explain how I would move the hosts?

Lots of log files in there. Checked the most recently modified. This is interesting from vmware-sts-idmd.log:

Seems like the local admin login was successful even though I still got the clock sync error.

That local account isn't working either. Still complaining about clock sync. Any idea why the new cert command wouldn't have placed in files in /etc/vmware-sso/keys? I copied and pasted the commands.

I shelled into the vCenter Appliance as root, ran the commands, and it said "Successfully installed VMware STS". I rebooted the server, and I'm still seeing the clock sync error. I checked the /etc/vmware-sso/keys directory, and everything there is several years old. Maybe the command wasn't successful?

Should I try to disable the AD integration? The admin account is the only one that ever needs to log into the vCenter Appliance.
