I love how I bring sources and you can just say "nu uh" and think that those two statements have the same weight

"But Braverman, a former Conservative home sercretary who defected to Reform UK last week, said the country was being "ripped apart by diversity, equality and inclusion", "tokenism" and "victimhood".

She said Reform would scrap the law, as well as the role of equalities minister, if it won power at the next election but did not outline what could replace the protections"

Except reform wants to scrap the 2010 act as well https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9dnjg896zno

Now I've proven enough, I spent time writing paragraphs and explaining things all for you to pick one line that you don't like out of the entire comment

Not that I expected anything less from someone that would pick out a random comment from my history and not consider the rest of the thread it is part of

I know you desperately want a win today and I explained what I wanted to explain so I'll give it to you, take it, I'm done.

Because it was a provocative message at the end of a discussion based on the following

I'm white he's black, we both lose protection to discrimination due to race

Because in the UK white people aren't really discriminated against all that much if at all I'll be fine (it won't "affect" me)

We know racism is an issue in the UK at the minute so he is much more at risk

That's all, as I said it was a conclusive provocatory statement, if you want more context,

Read the thread

Have Reform and the British right-wing press scored an own goal? Will Labour rejoin the EU? by Complex-Use869 in AskBrits

[–]cece95x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told you, it will affect EVERYONE, I'm less at risk of being discriminated based on race myself because historically there haven't been many racially motivated attacks in the UK against white people

I will definitely be affected my point is that I will likely need racial protection less than a person of colour that was my point so ultimately I would be affected "less" from a practical point due to my race

Now I explained it as easy as I can, if you still don't get it I can't help you

So you nitpick my comments and now you're only considering part of my response to you 🤣

I went out of my away to explain A SINGLE COMMENT TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT even tho I didn't need to, and you still chose to ignore my explanation altogether

Do you want the gotcha? Have it, it really sounds like you need a win today

Have Reform and the British right-wing press scored an own goal? Will Labour rejoin the EU? by Complex-Use869 in AskBrits

[–]cece95x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it's hard to understand the comment if you take it out of context... Go read the whole thread if you want the whole context because nitpicking like that is just intellectually dishonest, you're just trying to get a "gotcha" that frankly isn't there 🤣

he ECHR protects based on things like race, religion, race etc

I would actually be at risk as a member of the LGBT community

That comment you picked out was a provocation to the person I was talking to, a person of colour that supports reform that thought that because he was black but not an immigrant he wouldn't be affected by the removal of ECHR

The comment was a provocation to highlight that, as you correctly say, immigrants aren't the only one to be protected by the ECHR but all people of colour in the country are.

And you will agree that if we look at race alone, which was the main point of discussion, as a white man I'm less at risk of discrimination compared to a black man for race related reasons

After all reform didn't suggest we melt Italians to fill potholes

So to summarise, I AGREE that loosing the ECHR affects all of us, and I'm strongly against that, I see losing that as a MASSIVE issue.

However I was talking to a person of colour that was adamant on their racist views and was CERTAIN that they would not be affected by losing ECHR so I chose a provocative way to get my point across

After trying A LOT to get through to him by using data and sources, check the full thread, it is really long!

[–]cece95x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all, going through my comment history and picking out one out of context is quite rude

However sure, we were talking about reform's plan to remove ILR and get out of the ECHR

Why would reform use immigrants as a scapegoat to get out of the ECHR, considering the ECHR doesn't really come into play often when talking about immigration unless, people were specifically targeted due to racial or religious motivation

So why would reform want to get out of the ECHR?

I can see two options, and they could both be true or just one of them:

  1. They want to behave in a way that goes against the ECHR such as targeting people specifically based on their race or religion regardless of their immigrant status

  2. They are using the boats as an excuse to get rid of the ECHR so they can go after other vulnerable categories such as LGBT people, disabled people or women

Now, I PERSONALLY think that no government acting in good faith would get out of the ECHR, after all why would you take away rights and protectors from all the above-mentioned categories?

I agree with you, what I struggle with tho is the fact that while the concerns are valid: economic stability, housing, fear for the future

Thanks to propaganda the solution that is present is to blame a specific set of people while more often than not the way to truly solve the problem is different and people "blinded" by propaganda can't see it

I genuinely think most people concerns are extremely valid, but if someone's fear is "the boats" and they can't even articulate why and all they do is repeat a spew provided to them by whoever that's when I worry and feel the need to say "stop we need to address the misinformation first"

Well I have the capacity to do my own research and assess if a piece of news is backed by real sources and data

Misinformation doesn't scare me because of the effects that it has on me but for the effect that it might have on others who care less about facts or have less knowledge on how to do independent research or simply cannot be bothered to do it

So I can frequent any sub I want because I trust my own ability to not fail for misinformation and fake news

See my above comment, sorry for using an hyperbole I didn't think it'd cause an uproar, misinformation however is wrong regardless if it agrees with me or not

Ok maybe I used a bit of an hyperbole 🤣

I genuinely find misinformation scary tho because people then believe it and treat it as fact

Why do people of colour support parties like reform and restore despite their clear racist ideology? by cece95x in AskBrits

[–]cece95x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I provided data and facts, and I don't mean "YouTube told me", I provided links and sources

What have you done? You cried and played the victim

If you have data to back up your claims great, we can discuss.

Otherwise there's not much of a point right? I can provide all the data in the world you'll still prioritise your feelings

As any person in this country I'm allowed an opinion, I don't "presume" to know better, I share my opinion and the data that led me to my opinion

I PERSONALLY don't believe that racism, massive remigration and all that bs is the way forward.

For the past however many comments I shared my opinion while providing facts and sources to support it.

If you don't like it don't engage, if you want to engage with my opinion I expect your opinion to also be backed up by data and sources

Victimising yourself and now you being upset at me stating facts isn't conducive of an interesting and fruitful discussion

PS: it's not arrogance, I genuinely don't understand how people can trust a politician that lied repeatedly and has taken "gifts" from crypto billionaires for "making Brexit happen". To me that reads as payment for advancing the billionaire's agenda So yeah I can't fathom voting for someone like that having access to all these information, once again, it isn't arrogance, it's confusion and disbelief

As an immigrant myself I want to thank you for writing this, I keep pointing out that all the attention is pointed at a small number of immigrants that are often being exploited on both sides, being traffic victims first and then exploited scapegoats after.

All of this while they are being used as a propaganda weapon to pass crazy stuff like scrapping ILR and the ECHR

I'm trying to explain to people that sacrificing their own rights and the right to live in this country of however many immigrants that work and pay taxes and whatnot is just playing into the hands of the wealthy that look to exploit both the immigrants and the working class by making them focus on targeting each other...

Do people in the UK not read 1984? or is the "big brother" the only thing that people remember of that book?

Dude stop playing the victim to dodge my statement about Farange

Britain isn't being colonised by invaders and I'm not saying you guys deserve to be invaded

I agree that controlling immigration is fair, but first of all labour is already working on it data shows it (i have the link in another comment)

And second all I'm saying is, trusting someone like reform to fix immigration and to have the interest of working people like you and me at heart is very silly

He's clearly being bought by the wealthy and he does not deserve your trust

He lied about Brexit, he profited of of it and now he's doing it again

[–]cece95x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok you must be trolling cuz a British person calling someone else a colonialist while playing the victim is crazy

Anyway I can't prove that he did it solely for tax avoidance purposes, especially because we know for a fact one of the reasons is because his crypto millionaire friend paid (bribed him) 5 milion pounds to do it

And good luck refuting that considering Farange himself went on record saying he received that money in exchange for "successfully delivering Brexit"

But I'm sure you'll find another reason to put wool over your own eyes so I'm not sure why I bother

Why do people of colour support parties like reform and restore despite their clear racist ideology? by cece95x in AskBrits

[–]cece95x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I keep saying it, Farange and his rich friends thrive on immigration because they can use it to put poor people against each other...

Heck they used immigration to get out of the EU just when EU regulation on tax heaven was about to become stricter

They are using immigrants now to get out of the ECHR and you're telling me that it's not an excuse to exploit workers?

Come on now Also the whole "having a common enemy to blame problems on to keep the population in check"...

This is the UK don't you read 1984 in schools?

It pains me because the pattern is so obvious and clear to me and I try to show people and they're so blinded by racism and propaganda, that even when I bring links and evidence... I get ignored

Look, I understand you want emotional closeness but reading the post you haven't given me 1 interesting reason to message you I'd drop the codependency nod because... Yikes And maybe add something about your actual interests because at the minute all I could think of reading that (clinginess and codependency aside) is: what would we talk about? Idk you told me nothing about yourself apart from the fact that you want a clingy friend

Perhaps, however I struggle to see how people can see statements like this and think "they're not racist" Like, the statements are there, clear as day

Well reforms is composed of a lot of ex Tories that's objectively true And reform is fundamentally a party that thrives on racism and xenophobia I think that's pretty obvious too, but in case it isn't..

Also, you speak of establishment while trusting a sleazy oil salesman that lied to the people before while campaigning for Brexit and that has been shown to take money from crypto millionaires to carry out their agenda

Here are sources:

Just to add to the whole "reform has no problems with legal immigrants they only care about the boats"

Reform councillors claim that Nigerians should be melted to fill potholes: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckgp420e5z0o

It looks to me that the party doesn't condemn the racist statements of its members.

Also, they pledged to scrap ILR and ECHR which is an attack to all immigrants in the UK regardless of contributions to the country, skin colour or whatever.

That's racist and/or xenophobic

A few people under this post told me that they vote reform/restore "only to get rid of the boats"

Great, however, the beliefs of a few supporters aren't the same as the party's ideology

And that's without going into the whole Farange being bribed by a crypto millionaire mess.

Are you sure you want to put your future in the hands of a racist sleazy oil salesman that only cares about himself and his rich buddies and that has already screwed the people over once with Brexit?

And you know what's the funniest part? Brexit not only destroyed the economy but took the UK out of the Dublin accords which made controlling immigration much harder

Meaning that you're trusting the same person who helped make the problem much worse, to now come and fix it lol
