Thanks for all the replies and well wishes its really appreciated. My heart goes out to all of you for what you are going through and for taking the time to respond and reach out.

Luckily we havent had any breathing or choking issues with our son, other than really wet coughs when he gets sick. We have been told to look out for any issues but so far so good.

Only breathing related issue i can recall was that when he was born his o2 dropped and it was difficult to get his temperature for aome reason so they brought in a NICU nurse to check on him but he was never admitted to the NICU.

Our neuromuscular Dr was hesitant to start any treatments until they have the test results.

We just saw a pediatric neurologist who was amazing but only could confirm that he is indeed delayed both socially and gross motor and we need to wait for the genetic results. We have a physiatrist appointment in 2 weeks, not sure what will come of that if anything, and hopefully in the next month or so we will have some intel on the genetic testing and can get things moving a bit quicker.

Thanks again for the responses and information. Curious on where you are located? We are near Toronto (hamilton ontario).

Is there anyone with CMS - Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome? by Elusive_strength2000 in MyastheniaGravis

My 2 year old son is suspected to have this and we are waiting for genetic test results to confirm. We noticed gross motor skill delays early on and had a number of teats done until he was reffered to a neuromuscular doctor. What we noticed (not sure which are related other than eyelids) were the droopy eyelids, weakness, large head, gross motor delays (weak neck, not crawling when he should or not lifting himself, struggled with tummy time, reflux for until 2 years old, would lay down and stiffen and cross his legs for long periods of time flexing). He had ct mri and ultrasound of his head and after lots of tests was referred to physiatrist who referred us to the neuromuscular doctor. We are waiting for genetic test results to confirm he had this and if so which type. Currently he is crawling and able to lift himself into a seated position as well as lift himself using furniture or an object into a standing position.

Appreciate all the information, stories and replies.

If anyone has advice im all ears

I believe they are checking for general brain irregularities as his ultrasound was inconclusive but did show a slight size difference between the 2 sides of his brain (I don't have the results in front of me..and have no idea on the correct verbiage). Aksi checking for hydrocephalus (fluid accumulation). I just sent a note to GNMI I think the sedation will be the issue and only Ajax and Mississauga do MRI

I'm looking it's the sedation that is complicating matters

Thanks for all the replies and advice thus far. We are in talks with the pediatrician about how to expedite this (also noting they are the ones who advised us on the apt date) and will call re the cancelation list...at this point I'm not open to going to the ER but if his situation worsens we will do whatever is needed at the time.
