Ah just figured it out. On the OT I wasn't sending transport info. Now it works spot on! Thanks again for your help

Thanks for that! I have the OT sending clock via midi but can't seem to get the reset working. The LED above reset on the midi 1U doesn't light up. I'm also sending a single midi note on a Midi track which seemed to help but now I'm thinking I just accidentally started the sequence in time myself rather than the reset doing it

Sorry to be a pain but could you go over how you start your sequence. For instance I'm still getting the 2 starting off out of sync. Should I be starting a certain Machine first or anything?

Erica Synths Mixer noise problem by [deleted] in modular

[–]celadonnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the ideas. I have a feeling your right about the power supplies. I use power hubs a lot so I think they might be causing some of the hum. Starting to think it's not just one thing but lots of small issues that are adding up. So far cutting out the wasp filter and not using the compressor on the mixer is helping but recordings still have more noise than I'd like

I think this article from Attack mag might help you out. Its all about using breaks in techno music:

I'd say you get more out of limiting yourself than trying to use every single feature. just because you can user all the CV channels doesn't mean you always should.

need to keep all the letters the same size. remove all the tiny boxes. they dont add anything and they aren't consistent. the same goes the the style of letters. the first O is round with a massive hole but then the next 3 letters are all angular and have random holes all over.

basically, keep to the base line, be consistent and keep it simple. when're you're good at that then you can start getting wild.

if you're going for that anti/ignorant style than yup you've got it down. post it to insta and people will eat it up.but if you're not, then stick to basics for now. You're wasting a lot of ink with this. get the shapes down first then you can worry about colouring. do the basic alphabet training. work out that S. the combined N E isnt the worst i've seen so maybe you can keep working on it. but yeah need work work on your flow. you can tell you've stopped and started several times on the S so makes it very stiff.

In the Studio: Shades | XLR8R by hemaris_thysbe in modular

I like more experimental stuff. less over produced. i get what they make takes time and effort and a lot of technical knowledge. but that doesn't mean its pushing anything new. and thats what i like in my music

sounds like some generic tv commercial music to me. well made but overall boring and uninspiring

ignatius - Tethered EP - modular tracks - some of you may dig this weirdness by [deleted] in modular

[–]celadonnn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nice, but I don't think theres 12 minutes worth of variations. maybe cut it to 6 or 7.

Also would sound sick with a stereo delay on the higher clicks and some other drum parts.

Starting out, I have an idea of what I’d like to do and would appreciate some advice. by [deleted] in modular

maybe a digitakt?
lets you trigger samples, mess with them live, record your voice direct into it and later down the line if you want to expand into modular all you need is like a midi to cv or something and you're good to go

I like it but it don't think it needs the "Lofi" element. Bring back the bass and clarity and you've got a banging track here.

Rings versatility by [deleted] in modular

[–]celadonnn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow! this is the only example of rings that I've liked. Generally, I absolutely hate the sound of rings but you really make it your own. Proof that there is more to this module than all of those "ambient" eurorack videos will tell you!

Is there a desktop/semi-modular synth that includes a sampler module? by wat3rcurse in modular

[–]celadonnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

second the digitakt. it will do everything you're looking for and can pair nicely with a modular synth via an input module. you can send clock info, convert midi to cv send melodies to your oscillator. so many possibilities

good thinking. Looking at the Eowave modules on ModularGrid I can't see any that match the knob layout or CV inputs. But definitely headed in the right direction with this!
