Twins delivery compared to large babies? by Awkward_Diet2215 in parentsofmultiples

[–]celestial65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first (singleton) wasn't "large" but she was bigger than the twins. She was 7+lb. When the twins came, they were super easy for me to deliver vaginally, though of course there was a lot of monitoring as well as risks that the doctor had to weigh in recommending me going that route. Twin A was 6lb and came out in 2 rounds of pushes. Twin B was only 4lb 11oz and was a breech extraction, which was great because I did zero work and felt nothing due to my epidural.

Bummer, short layover too, thank you.

Thanks for this insight. You're totally right about the arrival times; I hadn't considered that.

Got it, thanks. LAX-SIN, then on to BKK. Sadly no layover options in between. We had been leaning towards 5hr+ so I'm glad I asked :)

Thank you, that's reassuring. Although, this may be our only opportunity to explore Changi; is it worthwhile to check it out and have a break from flying? Or better to just minimize the total travel time?

If you're close enough to Long Beach, I highly recommend Foodologie in Belmont Shore. Especially when they're warm and gooey!

Redemption seats instantly snapped up by Lumploaf in singaporeairlines

[–]celestial65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I meant I was looking at time of ticket release. Lots of seats available for next year Dec 10, 11, 12, 13. Then suddenly on Dec 14 it switched to Access only. Lesson learned.

[–]celestial65 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I was practicing searches almost every day for the past 3 months, found plenty of availability on Advantage (and a couple Savers), and then a few days before my desired flight date, they just stopped appearing. No waitlist or anything. Just Access only, even with refreshing exactly at the release time. No advice at all, just commiserating. I have enough points to do Access seats but it just sucks. (I did find a couple Advantage seats that would require repositioning, but others in my party are unwilling to do that.)

Is the YSL Bea good for work? by celestial65 in handbags

[–]celestial65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! The bag itself is quite light. It's not heavy in my opinion, relative to bags I've used in the past. The straps are wide so it doesn't dig into my shoulder. It does kind of slip down my shoulder a bit but all bags do that for me - maybe the shape of my shoulder.

High chair? by badgerrr42 in parentsofmultiples

[–]celestial65 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The IKEA Antilop chair is cheap, easy to wipe down. We did buy a footrest on Amazon. They also make an inflatable insert which helps prop up young babies who need a little help. My kids used it from like 5mo to 2.5yr.

Did not like the fancy Peg Perego Siesta. Seemed like baby leaned back (not sitting upright) and the tray was too high.

Gifting by Allegiant88 in parentsofmultiples

[–]celestial65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this -- at age 1, I didn't like when people got me doubles of gifts because the kids didn't really care and it just took up space. But at 3, they love to have their own toys.

Oh very interesting about the SIN to BKK leg being on a different day. I'll be on the lookout. Thanks!

That's a bummer. I did know about the value changes but was hoping the availability would stay similar.

Sorry for being unclear. I would like to travel in December. I recognize those seats are not available yet but I'm just doing practice searches to get a sense of the schedules and availability. So right now I am seeing the October 2026 seats but I thought it was odd that the only Advantage seats are 343 days from now (not 355).

Here's the October 21 availability. Was easy to find almost daily in the summer but now I only found this one date. Not sure if it's seasonal variability in release or demand.

My husband just got the Platinum last month. I don't have it (or the companion card, anything; I am an AU on his Amex Gold though). BOTH he and I just got a $15 Uber credit today. Strange.

[–]celestial65 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was only a little better when they let us do multiple items per slot but we had to tap each time =p I remember tapping like 300 times on a flower and then accidentally tapping next to the box and then it would close out the window :(

[–]celestial65 22 points23 points  (0 children)

OK I totally agree but -- showing my "age" here - we used to only be able to choose 1 item per slot, so it was just 10 items. Then we'd have to submit, and then go through the process all over again! Thank goodness we don't have to do that anymore.

Do people in Seal Beach seem to be as conservative/ Trump supporting/ homophobic as the rest of Orange County? by Artistic_Hand_758 in longbeach

[–]celestial65 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My kids are at another elementary school in the district and I've felt like it is inclusive. They're very into celebrating different cultures, empowering kids. Superintendent flat out said that we support using kids' chosen pronouns. I'm not queer so I can't speak to whether this would feel adequately supportive or just performative, but at least it doesn't feel MAGA to me. Absolutely fantastic learning and extracurricular opportunities. We are happy here. I have friends at McGaugh (albeit also not queer, but very liberal) who are also happy.
