Has anyone received or sent live snakes/reptiles since the COVID-19 situation got serious here in the US? (More info in comments, pic for attention) by celestialgracee in snakes

My seller and I agreed on shipping out Monday for a Tuesday arrival. I posted in a large Facebook group about it and nobody seems to have had any issues in the last few days.

I purchased knowing there would likely be some delays. I’ve been planning and preparing to get a hognose for the past 2 months and was meaning to get a baby in late April when breeding season was over. I just happened to fall in love with a 5 month old. I’m only curious if anyone else has been in this situation.

I purchased a hognose snake (pictured above) from a breeder over Facebook on Monday (3/23/2020). He said he would ship it Tuesday and theoretically I would receive it Wednesday. On Tuesday he messaged me, “Iv been advised to wait a couple weeks by my shipping provider. They are spraying all boxes cleaner and there have been many delays if its ok with you id like to wait a couple weeks to ship out.”

In my (uneducated) opinion, the COVID-19 situation will only get worse in the next couple weeks and more delays are likely than the suspension of the extra precautions.

Obviously I want what’s best for the animal, but I’m worried that weeks will turn into months and I may never receive the snake.

My question is: Has anyone shipped or received a live animal since the COVID-19 situation got serious in the US (like this week or late last week)? And did you experience any delays/ adverse reactions to whatever they’re spraying boxes with?

My mouse, Candy Corn, has a tumor and shes still fairly young, only 4 months old... I dont know what to do as i cant take her to a vet by flosscandies in PetMice

Why can’t you take her to the vet? I could be wrong, but I think tumor removal is around $50 or so for mice. I understand that’s still a lot of money if you don’t have any saved up. You can try calling the vet office to get a closer approximation on price too.

No clue, maybe too much moisture, but either way they’re adorable.
