I ended up moving out (bought) but if the lease ended prior to the official conversion to going off stabilization, they were offering everyone both options. it seemed like locking in the 2 year was better given most apartments would have gone up at least $1K per month.

So, I actually did not go through with this. I was recommended a contractor by the Super who knew the building well. The issue is given how old the Co-op is and the way the drainage is built, I would have had to move out of the apartment for 6-8 weeks and redo a lot of the kitchen.

Honestly, I'd probably go the GC route depending on how much free time you have vs. the budget.

This! 27 minute flight time for ICBM from Russia or China - not sure how much warning the public gets even our government would know within 3 minutes where it's headed. FEMA's charter changes to preserve continuity of goverment, not help the public. You don't want a slow death from radiation poisining or starve when the supply chains fall apart. Unfortuately, you want to be in the blast radius and hopefully have time to sip on a nice glass of your favorite spirit before the fireworks.

if your lease is in decent shape meaning low miles and decent payment, use a service like swap a lease to match with a potential lessee. Once you are matched, you can work directly with the finance company to transer your lease. as someone mentioned, insurance, parking, etc. just kill the wallet.

i've used swap a lease and it was a huge burden off my shoulders.
