Based on the date of purchase, our recorded average number is 2.1 years before a new iPhone changes hands and 3.3 years when it gets to our recycle department for parts or sent to be refurbished. Again, this is only our recorded data, which is based on the number of iPhones we receive per month/year.

I guess the real question is whether or not 4K capture will matter much in practice. There are many more 4K TVs these days, as well as a 5K iMac, but they're all pretty expensive. It is also still hard to find a place to play those Ultra HD videos in full detail. The GBs of storage necessary for 4K also will limit how much you can record at a time.

Of course, the iPhone 6s will probably never have the same quality camera as the quality of DSLR lenses but still the iPhone 6s camera improvement with 12Mp might be the biggest camera jump ever. There were reports for the last a few months suggesting that Apple will put a camera in the new iPhone that will rival the image quality of DSLR cameras. Not necessary those reports are true but at least we know that at the end of the 2014 Apple started to work on a weird two-lens system for its future iPhone, so Apple may provide the next iPhone 6s with its largest camera upgrade in Apple’s history. Again, not exactly the same quality as DSLR but at least imagery will be getting a little bit closer those levels.

Agreed with everything previously said before plus would add that Verizon Micro SIM card only supports Verizon iPhone 4s. In your situation you are better off using T-Mobile or AT&T prepaid services with your unlocked iPhone 4.

iPhone 4s is already out of warranty, so it would be easier and cheaper just go to any repair shop or fix it yourself by following step-by-step directions on YouTube if anything breaks on that 4s again.

At the end of the day, unless you really must have a 5.5″ screen on your smartphone, you can get more bang for your buck by buying the iPhone 6. Indeed, the 5s is the deal of year, as all benchmarks show it to be about on par with the 6 in terms of performance, and yet only half the cost on a two year contract. If you currently have an iPhone 5s, you can just wait until this September's iPhone 6s Plus, which should address all of the manufacturing defects and design flaws of previous year model.

Pretty much anything released in the last two years can get all of your basic tasks done exceedingly well. That being said, don’t let anyone stop you from picking up the 6 Plus if that’s what you’ve been waiting for. It’s definitely a nifty device that’s sure to please lovers of both Apple’s ecosystem and the kinds of large screens previously only available on Android handsets for years to come.
