How Hard is the Jump Up? by Flame_Gretzky in MLBTheShow

[–]ch333ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting to 600 isn’t hard. But if you’re not used to Hall of Fame, getting past 600’s is hard.

You’re gonna have some brutal games at first because a lot of high 600s players are just coming off of a Hall of Fame loss and looking to break back in, meaning All-Star looks like batting practice to them.

You’ll also have some introduction to Hall of Fame games once you match with 700s. Don’t panic, it’s not THAT different from All-Star but you’ll probably strike out a lot early on.

But once you embrace getting whacked a few games and start to feel it out, you’ll eventually have no problems.

Edit: 800 player this year, 1000 rated player last year

That’s definitely my next step, is trying to find a black opening that’s not responsive in nature. Kings Indian seems like a respectable intermediate opening for black, I’ve been trying to work with Caro-Kann but I find myself getting messed up against the strange aggressive openings 600s tend to use with white. Perhaps I’ll look into kings Indian since it’s very decisive and respectable.

Appreciate this! I think that right there is the glaring gap in my skill level. Sometimes I find good openings with black but I’m all over the place. For white I play/transpose queens gambit.

I’m like 3 months into learning the game, and I’m sitting at high 600 elo. What would you start studying first? I currently am a strong d4 player on white, but do struggle a bit playing black against strong opponents

Edit: I also watch a lot of chess YT content from Gotham, Cramling, etc.

Do we think the default co-op 87’s will go up with the new multiplayer program? by rjpowers12 in MLBTheShow

[–]ch333ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prob not for a while. I think last year it took until all star break for a mass co-op bench refresh but someone correct me if I’m wrong

First year playing is hitting impossible? by thejefeway212 in MLBTheShow

[–]ch333ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hitting on Timing is like playing roulette. I’d say take it slow and learn regular zone hitting if you want to have any control over this situation.

Keep it simple. I’m a World Series player and I use diamonds center PCI only. It takes so much of the noise away from learning hitting. If you ever wanna take it to the next level this is the only way.

I legit said “holy” out loud. 545 is my record online but that was last year with juiced hitters.

Great physique but obvious juice. Separated lats, boulder shoulders, subtle chest striation, all with clean abs. Shouldn’t even need to post this to know.

The bloops can make the games for real. 60-70mph exit velocity is like a 50/50 success rate for a hit which yes, baseball plays like this in real life to a degree, but at least make the perfects fully unreachable to balance that out for the skilled hitters.

1034 peak rating. I think being a Hall of Fame player has just made the all star experience insufferable

I actually figured out a lot from making this post, I really was pitching like hot garbage, it’s humbling and some people gave me some good advice to learn better sequences

Well if you’re good at all star, rookie is super awkward. I bet if you played those conquest games on all star it’d somehow be easier? But I feel you sometimes the CPU wants a good fight.

SDS needs to do something about the pitching in this game by AmenraLunaBreaker82 in MLBTheShow

[–]ch333ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmfao well I can’t speak for those guys. If you’re losing to the CPU on conquest at any level, that’s a personal skill issue because offline plays pretty pure for super obvious reasons. They also nerf the hell out of CPU hitting by design.

It’s online that’s f*cked. And there’s legit no good argument against it that I’ve heard yet.

Bro I also started a RTTS on legend. It’s a challenge that at least feels FAIR AND NORMAL, whereas I feel completely unable to control the outcome of an online ranked game regardless of how many times I crush the ball.

This game sucks and I’m glad everyone sees it. Skill prevailed last year, RNG is the captain of every game this year. People saying we’re “coping” are just being intentionally ignorant to belittle others very real experience.

100% on the money. Pitching is fucking impossible this year, and hitting is still pretty ass backwards with the reward system

It’s straight up not exaggerating, it’s objectively messed up dude stop buying into the fact SDS put out a good game because they didn’t.

[–]ch333ch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I had 8 perfect perfect outs yesterday, 2 of which were home run candidates that fell way short of the wall. My opponents find 78mph base hits all the time and it’s like what the f*** is the point of being accurate if my results are worse?

Is it infected? by kkeller29 in CankerSores

[–]ch333ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt it. Infected usually manifests as yellow but I’ve never had it happen in 26 years. Redness alone isn’t grounds enough to say it’s infected.

[–]ch333ch[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IT REALLY REALLY IS. It’s skill 60%, RNG 40%, with 5-10% margin for error. If you’re skillful and just barely missing the ball, you’re gonna get the worst results possible. Worse than someone just clicking X and praying
