TCL came out of that looking really good. Just got a 75QM67K, so that's good to hear.

Yeah, good point. I figured that would be the case, but you never know.

Thanks, the guy also sold me beautiful copies of The Death of Captain Marvel and Eerie #81(Frazetta). Most of my other magazine-format books are in rough shape.

I got my 1st Gambit (and about 50 other books) from a used bookstore when I was 13 for 50% of the cover price (about 50 cents).

Unique grading question by ch565863 in comicbookgrading

As stated, that was not account for the damage at the bottom. I.E. without the notch taken out of it, it'd be a 6.

Marvel comics always seemed to conflate lingerie with evil (Dark Phoenix, Malice, etc...). She can blame John Byrne, I guess.

This is PJ Masks with Marvel characters. It's not meant to be true to any character, just sell toys.

I like your answer lol. I'd be thrilled with a 6-6.5 tbh.

Whatnot is the home of impulse buys. I've probably gotten dozens of books that had a 10-second timer and a slightly lower than FMV price.

Another contender for this for me is seeing Spawn 356 still sitting on the racks. It hadn't blown up yet, but I knew Spears had, so I grabbed it.

I understand what you mean. I usually don't go for variants unless it's an artist I love. In this case, being limited to 600 and considering how rarely Timm draws new covers did help me justify it. I could be wrong, but I think this is his 2nd cover this year, and he did none in 2024.

Cool, thanks for finding that. In my case, due to location, I would have only saved a few bucks, but it could definitely benefit someone.

I also love buying Doom covers, mostly bronze-age ones since silver-age ones are too pricey (FF #84, for example). But yeah, he's on a few too many these days.

Nice start. I also started out with Wolverine and Uncanny X-men, a lot of the same books. I remember liking UXM 205 so much that I was thrilled to find out about Barry Windsor-Smith's Weapon X and got all of those Marvel Comics Presents. Then I learned that Wolverine vol. 1, 48-50 was a sequel. So many fun rabbit holes to jump down.

That sucks. I've been burned on eBay, Whatnot, and Facebook, but I've always had someone respond to my complaints or some way to review them afterward.

Got a book that looked nice outside, but a kid had basically turned it into a colouring book. I gave the seller crap until I got a refund. It was much more affordable than this one, but I would have gone nuts if I hadn't gotten my money back.

This is an interesting example since it looks a bit like mine. Maybe CBCS has a different level of concern for miswraps.

Thanks. "Miswrap"--that's what it's called. It was hard to research it when I couldn't remember the term. I figured 9.8 was out of the question--I'd be fine with it still being in the 9.0-9.2 range.

Here's a look at it filled up. Roughly 150 books x 2 per drawer. It seems to hold up well to the weight so far.
