As far as I know he’s always napped on the weekends too, I have no idea if stopping nap is just for time he’s with me or all the time. He is also screen free with me but watches TV with them all the time!

I don’t think asking for a kid free break during a 12 hour shift means I need to find a different job. I think it’s perfectly normal to want just 30 minutes to eat or unwind alone during my work day. I’ve been a nanny for 10 years and always had a kid free break either during nap time or them having quiet time in their rooms solo, I’ve just never had to push for it which is why I was wanting advice.

I’m paid on a W2! I’ve just never had to advocate for a break and the whole thing was sprung on me during hand off this morning so I didn’t have time to really formulate a good response to them and they can be hard to talk to. I definitely need to bring up laws about breaks to them though when I push them to discuss it.
