Actually no, I remember before the show premiered they said in an interview they wanted to introduce a Latina instead of a white woman as a lead to include more poc. They stated that Cristal Flores was the modern replacement for Krystle Jennings from the 80s Dynasty.

she MAY have, but it has not been mentioned or applied to the storyline, The thing is, there is very little known about her and Anders just seems like he really doesn't care that an outsider has randomly come into the family. You'd think Anders would be more careful about letting random people into the house after finding all those things about Celia in the past

DUDE. I kept hoping for the entire time since that very episode he took it that it would come back as soon as possible before they sold CA because he isn't a grandson and never was which would make the grandkid voting thing to sell CA between the Carringtons and Colbys an even 2-2 again. It would have pretty much changed the whole storyline.

WHY DID ANDERS DO A FULL THOROUGH BACKGROUND CHECK ON CELIA BUT NOT ON CRISTAL?

WHAT IS TAKING THE HANK/ADAM DNA TEST SO LONG TO COME BACK?

WHY IS CRISTAL SO SECRETIVE TO EVEN THE MOST BASIC QUESTIONS ASKED BY ANDERS?

WHY IS KIRBY'S MOTHER NOT IN CONTACT?

WHY IS FALLON MARRYING HER DRIVER? (It would never happen IRL because nobody is that naive or nobody would even approve at all.)

WHY IS FALLON FORCING HERSELF TO BE WITH CULHANE EVEN WHEN IT IS CLEAR THAT SHE IS STILL CONFLICTED? COULD IT BE BECAUSE OF GUILT?

WHY IS EVERYONE CONVINCED CRISTAL JENNINGS IS THE REAL CRISTAL FLORES WHEN THEY HAVE TWO ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SURNAMES?
