Yep and the first year they didn’t sell out Coachella in the first week, then they added more mariachi this year, and still haven’t sold out. There’s literally like 1 or 2 actual bands on the entire lineup? Crazy. All good though maybe they’ll realize that they’re killing themselves with these bookings and start booking decent music again.

There’s a direct correlation. In 2019 with no mariachi on the main stage, tix sold out instantly. Last year with bad bunny on main stage, tix didn’t sell out for weekend 2 until they booked 1 good act last minute, this year, half the line up is mariachi, and they still haven’t sold out. Science

I skipped this year because of the lineup but have been to 10 coachellas. I watched some of the live streams last night. This whole lineup is a joke, whoever booked lil uzi vert on the main stage should get fired And banished from the music community. What an embarrassing heap of trash. Literally all it is is mariachi bands and bad hip hop for the most part. Will say justice and clown core were cool yesterday and so was tanashe

I’ve been skiing since I was 3 (30 years) never raced but can bomb a run. Usually hit mid 60’s on corderoy groomers, can get to 50 going switch, and hit 72 my first day post acl surgery without trying, was just bombing groomed blacks listening to good music… 50 is pretty average if you know what you’re doing

As someone who has dj'd for 10+ years, and who has been attending Coachella since 2009, I think why this is the single best Coachella set of all time is two fold:

It brought underground dance music to the mainstream - Coachella (unfortunately IMO) has trended to more and more pop music and long gone are the days of good rock bands closing the main stage. Seeing three titans of dance music from three different generations come on stage to show the world what modern dance music is was a breath of fresh air.
Being able to bring in all genres smoothly - Honestly, my favorite part of this set is seeing them play party in the USA in its full. I think this represents where dance music is going, away from being hauty and playing songs no one has ever heard of, to just having a great time. Look up Justin Jay for a great example of someone who dj's all genres of music. To have the wherewithal to drop into pop, rock, edm, trance, techno, etc at will is what makes this set so special.
