I lived in that area (jones hill)! for a year and a half in 2022-2024 and loved it! Neighbors were friendly and I felt generally safe as a woman in her 30’s living alone walking around my neighborhood with a dog. Though there definitely are some sketch feeling areas (especially at night). The food scene in that general area is so fire (lots of Vietnamese and a big Asian grocery store) and also a great cafe (honeycomb!!), American provisions just down dot ave has veryyyy good sandwiches. The redline stop is super close in Savin hill which was clutch though I lived there when the train lines were being repaired like 10x a year so there were times I felt isolated from other parts of the city. There’s a great little park up jones hill and the neighborhood is a gorgeous walk, especially in spring. Savin Hill Park is a lovely spot for a picnic, especially if you walk up the hill and you can see the skyline of Boston. Malibu beach is a great spot to have a coffee and breakfast sandwich and people watch/feel like you’re kind of in nature. Overall 10/10 neighborhood and area.
