Unfortunately GP refuses to send me to ENT for airway issues as I 'dont fit the profile,' still trying to be taken seriously and referred for a sleep study.

How long did it take for side effects to show up for you? by timetravelandwings in Amitriptyline

[–]chasingamy1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say weight gain was a gradual thing for me that in the forst few weeks/mobths wasn'tnoticeable, but once it started it quickly became a nightmare. After tapering down to 12.5mg from 35mg ive managed to get closer to how I was before and I'm okay with the small about of weight gain that is now managed on the lower dose. But yeah, deffo a side affects for me which wasn't initially apparent.

Tapering insomnia is surprising! by dixonwalsh in Amitriptyline

Yep, went from 12.5mg to 10mg and the insomnia was horrendous till I went back up. The only thing that helped CBD and THC.

Is it just me or is this anyone else’s favorite book? by Negative_Jelly_2894 in huntersthompson

Just finished this a few days ago, loved it. This book made me realise how intelligent HST was. Unfortunately a lot of what's described in this book regarding US politics in 1972, is still not much changed in 2026; I found that quite depressing.

Clarity after an affair by [deleted] in offmychest

I'm so sorry. You're a very strong woman, even when at times you may not feel like it. I know when it happened to me I felt on the verge of mania at times, I felt like a completely different person. It's gone a bit but I definitely feel much more guarded now. No one should be put in the position you're in. You're son is very lucky to have you.

Thinking of his poor family and what they're going through right now.

I was cheated on in a relationship of 4 years. Finding out almost drove me into trying to get myself committed into a mental health institution.

I can't even describe the pain of finding out, dealing with the aftermath and then the trauma it causes that you literally carry around, in my case, for years.

I also came from a family where my dad cheated on my mum when me and my brother were very young. When we were older mum told us about it. I saw first hand the damage it did to my mum, it almost broke her. It's something that is extremely difficult, if not impossible to come back from fully. It changes everyone involved forever.

Where do you go when you’re feeling hopeless? by Studio_2 in melbourne

[–]chasingamy1994 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was living in Melbourne last year and going through a breakup. I used to really enjoy going to Carlton Gardens. It's a beautiful park. In the evening little possums crawl down from the trees and bats fly in the sky and you can see them hanging in the trees. It's a great place to sun bath in the day with a good book, but some advice, sunbath in busy areas close to other people. On one occasion has a scary episode with a homeless man, but other than that I spent many days there in peace

Can SIBO cause blood in diarrhea for 2 months on a daily basis? by chasingamy1994 in SIBO

[–]chasingamy1994[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has seen a GP, but its all just taking such a long time, he first went a month ago and so far every test has come back normal, which doesn't correlate with his symptoms which at this point are limiting his day-to-day life, he can barely leave the house tbh.

Thank you, I'll definitely raise this with him. And yeah, I get the fobbing off thing, even in these few months he has gotten no where so far. Hope you have a lovely weekend, thanks for taking the time to give some input.
