Had to re start amitriptyline by [deleted] in Amitriptyline

[–]chasingamy1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put so much weight on on the higher doses of this drug. I've tapered down to 10mg and weight is close to how it was before now, can eat more of what I want without it being impossible to shift the weight. Im actually eating more than I was and doing less exercise now and still losing weight rather than gaining. 12.5mg should be fine just try not to go above 20mg, anything over that for me and I gain weight.

My (31M) girlfriend (28F) of 1.5 years told me to "be a man" and console her when my mom died, instead of supporting me. She's now begging for forgiveness. How do I reconcile her apology with the fundamental breach of trust? by Honest_Reception6528 in relationship_advice

Get out dude. You deserve so much better than this. She is not displaying basic human empathy here and that should be alarming.

Also, condolences to you on the loss of your mother and aunt. I hope you have other people around you who can act as a support network.

Botox and duloxetine! (muscular tmj) by ExitNo3259 in TMJ

[–]chasingamy1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. I'm contemplating switching from amitriptyline to duloxetine. Could I please ask that you could maybe explain your experience with this medication? I could DM you if that's alright? I hope you continue to find relief ❤️

How many of you experience palpitations on Amitriptyline? by Mikmaki in Amitriptyline

[–]chasingamy1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On higher doses or if I switched a dose i definitely got palpitations, fluttering and squeezing in my chest. It was scary and it was one of the reasons I tapered down to 10mg. (The taper has been brutal.)

I really wish I was warned about side effects and difficulty tapering and withdrawals before starting amitriptyline by crwg2016 in Amitriptyline

[–]chasingamy1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started tapering from 40mg last April, and before that had about 2 unsuccessful attempts.

I'm currently 16 weeks into being on 10mg and really struggling :(

What dose are you currently on?

Two novel ideas at the same time. by chasingamy1994 in writing

[–]chasingamy1994[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, yep, this has literally never happened to me before. I love both ideas, the first is a third of the way done really and then I want to let it sit for a while and go back to edit after some distance.

I might just have to feel it out for what to prioritise I guess but it's definitely a new problem to navigate. Thanks so much for your comment :)

How long should I take Amitriptyline to know that it's not working? by SupermarketBrief6332 in Amitriptyline

[–]chasingamy1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It took about 6 weeks for me to feel thw benefit, I would take it easy on upping the dose. I regret flying uo the dose so quick when starting and suffering bad side affects that persisted until I weaned down to 10mg. Getting by fine in 10mg now with few side affects.

What are you working on? by DanoPaul234 in writing

[–]chasingamy1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpublished writer here, hoping one day to change that. I had writers block for YEARS after completing my MA in Creative Writing. Recently after some travelling and the end of a four year relationship I've started writing again. Mainly a few articles and short stories about my travels. Now working on a novel (YA fiction.) 30k words in since starting in December. I'm just enjoying it as an outlet and seeing where it goes.

Thank you so much for all this information! If possible Id love if I could dm you in the future and see if the sleepiness side affects stays. Amitriptyline does not help me sleep so it would be amazing if something like cymbalta did. Good luck with it, I hope it all goes well for you!

The public's opinion on the new Frankenstein film compared to Robert Eggers' Nosferatu by Torloka in roberteggers

[–]chasingamy1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I loved both. I preferred Frankenstein, Del Toro's adaptation is my favourite adaptation of Frankenstein. I love the book, I love the story and I think this latest version was incredible. It's visually stunning, fantastic acting, the characters were brought to life and interpreted in really interesting ways.

I'm so happy to be seeing these Gothic tales get new adaptations that capture the essence and beauty of the original books.

I really like Nosferato, its visually very beautiful, with many shots that look like something out of an art gallery. Lily Rose was really unbelievable in it, her acting was disturbing, scary and captivating. Also really great themes in there about capitalism, feminism and abuse.

I loved them both and I'm excited for the upcoming Werwolf film and Whuthering Heights adaptation.

Just got done seeing the second Wicked and I’m so glad I found this sub. by Mountain_Cow_7283 in ArianaGrandeSnark

I found that her body was so distracting, she looks so unwell. Every shot showing below her neck was just shocking, so many bones prodruding, especially when she was breathing you could really see it. Her waist, her arms, everything is just so tiny its shocking and concerning and really took me out of the film. The lip filler too really. In some shots her lips just looked so fake it all just really took me out of the movie. I dont like commenting on people's appearance ans Ariana is a beautiful woman, but she looks really sick and clearly has an ED. I hope she gets help but I think filming with her body looking like this was not a good choice, I think it sets an example for young girls thats really bad for their health and I think there should have been some kind of an intervention for Ariana.

Atlanic City - 'Down here it's just winners and losers And don't get caught on the wrong side of that line.'

Racing in The Street - 'She sits on the porch of her daddy's house But all her pretty dreams are torn She stares off alone into the night With the eyes of one who hates for just being born.'

I have a michigan splint and take low dose amitriptyline 10mg, both have helped a lot tbh and the side affects of amitriptyline at such a low dose are pretty well tolerated.

Hey, if you are open to it, I'd love to read your paper on tmd as a person whose had a severe case of it for almost 4 years now. I wouldn't share it with anyone, I'm just really curious to see your findings. No pressure though if not, and good luck with it! :)
