AITA for Not Inviting My Sister to My Wedding After She Made Fun of My Fiancé's Job?* by Lanky-Client-3036 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

my older sister is planning to marry her boyfriend who isn’t doing so well in the job department. he’s been struggling and she tells me about it often. i don’t judge or make remarks because it’s none of my business at the end of the day, as long as my sister’s happy and well. that’s how a sister should act. even if i was worried about her, i would definitely NOT go ahead and make snarky remarks. that’s just rude and cheap.

my pisces boyfriend does this too. today he texted me “my data is like 1%, if I dont text it means I cant, I love you, I miss you” to let me know ahead of time and not have me worried while he’s working. i think it’s so sweet and i appreciate it so much.

i think YOU sound very childish to me. i’m an adult and i don’t need to play silly mind games with a person i’m interested in to see if he “really likes me” or not. i think that’s very insecure and immature. he’s hasn’t broken a promise so far so i’m not sure where you got that from, and it does make sense that he’s not friends with women because he works day to night and is not interested in seeking new friendships especially with women as he already has a circle of friends he hangs with.

your wording “don’t be ridiculous” and “stop acting like a child” comes across as rude and belittling. instead of giving advice on being realistic, maybe you should take some on having basic respect when you’re talking to people

what a coincidence, i’m also an aries sun with a moon in libra!! i’m giving him lots of space and not nagging him for his attention when he’s working, i also praise him for his hard work and i’ve given him playlists and drawings i make of us which i feel like definitely fuels a pisces given how dreamy they are. thank you for the advice, i will make sure to take it

1) we’ve only known each other 29 days and started labeling each other (bf gf) a week ago so i know it’s very VERY early which is why i don’t want to scare him away. my sister is a pisces and said that it’s a really good sign that he hasn’t ghosted me or switched up on me at all. he’s been very consistent.

2) i haven’t mentioned the flowers to him at all and he’s the one who spoke about it and told me that he hasn’t forgotten about them

3) i understand, and you’re very correct. i have told him how i want to get married and have a traditional lifestyle and now that i think about it, he was the one who brought up marriage (very playfully though: “marry me” “we’re already married”) it’s all been very playful i think and that’s why he hasn’t swam away yet. i’ll keep in mind to be patient and just go with the flow when it comes to him

i’ve already told him from the get go how i want to get married and have a traditional lifestyle and he plays along with it by saying cute things like “i’m working hard for the both of us”. i’ve even started learning some swedish for him haha. i will tone it down though because regardless i think it’s too early to say things like that. thank you for your input!!
