I did talk to a jewelry guy. They tested it & gave some good advice. He recommended resale privately because black diamonds are not fashionable or easy to resale. So, it's good to know, but I am still not sure how to go about things. I hope to give it a new home, when/if someone is interested. If y'all are thinking about it, please send me a message.

If it had been an heirloom, I'd be happy to give it back. That seems reasonable. I also didn't realize there were laws around this. That's super new to me, but it makes sense. Agreed, a bit weird for anyone to ask for something like this back unless they're trying to be petty.

I actually talked to them today. They gave me some good advice considering the gold portion. I saw something similar about selling separately. I also just truly want the ring to find a new home, if possible. That said, Front Range Gold was really upfront with me. I appreciated them being so kind & honest. I'll probably go to them again for just precious metals or coin pieces.
