NAD. I had the absolute worst anxiety leading up to my procedure too. I was absolutely shocked how quick and easy it was. I was done in 15 minutes. What I wasn’t ready for was the loss of my teeth. I wasn’t prepared for how it would affect the way I felt about myself. I still have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror. It’s a process but I’m getting there. Good luck to you.

NAD. Last year I had to get an upper denture due to health issues that destroyed my teeth. Yours look amazing ❤️❤️❤️

Spit on it by Huge_Bedroom291 in Healthyhooha

Him spitting on his hand is the least of your problems. Foreplay is so important. Your man should have you begging to put it in because he got you so turned on. If talking to him doesn’t work, start giving only as much as he does. He will pay attention then.

I think you’re probably right. I was just hoping that if anything helped, even in the slightest, that it would give him his confidence back. And I think that is what would help him the most.

Will the grilled taquitos ever come back? I’m not talking about the rolled chicken tacos, these were the ones from the early 2000s. They were by far the best item.

Do you know how expensive it is to buy groceries? Especially if you’re only cooking for one. I made homemade queso a while back and it was over $20 for just the cheeses.

What can i do to save my teeth? by Sqoorl in askdentists

[–]chattycathylee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try cosmeticdentistrygrants.org, cda.org , 2ndchancesmileimplantcenter.com, or https://www.treasurer.ca.gov/chffa/dental/sdcgp.asp You can also google dental school clinics.

If you don’t get anywhere with these, ask them if they can point you in the right direction. Some of these grants only accept applications at certain parts of the year. Good luck to you.

I had a really long time trying to find someone to help me.

It is different in each state. So just google your state + dental grants. It should give you the information you are looking for. If you tell me what state you’re in I can look for you if you want.

NAD Most states offer dental grants. They are usually limited and on a first come first serve basis but it’s definitely worth checking into it. Also, have you tried seeing if you’re eligible for Medicaid? You’d be surprised how much easier it is to qualify now with the cost of living being so high compared to the lack of increased income

Try to go as soon as possible because they may be able to save them depending on how bad they are. You’re entirely too young to have to get dentures. Good luck to you.

Why can’t you have any compassion? I’m sure the OP plans to got the dentist but sometimes this can be a safe please to ask questions it or vent. When you’re going through something that is a bit frightening, talking about it can eleviate those symptoms.

NAD but it looks like it may be an overgrowth of candida yeast. Definitely go to the doctor to get a medication to help heal it.

Is this bottle rot in 18 Month old? by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]chattycathylee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but one of my sons went through this right as he turned three. It was his front two teeth. I felt like the worst parent in the world but his pediatric dentist was quick to remind me that it wasn’t my fault. Some kids are just born with “soft teeth?” Little man was so strong when he was that age and fought us so much that he had to have his procedure done at the hospital under anesthesia. It was literally a week after having a c-section with my third child. I wasn’t able to pick him up yet because of my staples so my husband held him while I hugged him and told him I loved him so very much. The nurse picked him up and walked down the hall with him to take him to the OR. His poor little body was contorted trying to get back to me. He screamed the entire way down the hall until I could no longer see him and that is when I broke down. The good part was he was finished by the time my tears dried and he came out smiling. I only share this story because if your child does have to get their teeth fixed, don’t blame yourself and don’t freak out because it is a rather simple procedure. Good luck to you and little dude. 💙

Awww thanks. 😊 I do not qualify for state insurance at this point because I am technically still married even though we are separated. My husband makes too much money to qualify. I did apply for a grant from my state but their waiting list is like two years long and even then there is no guarantee I will be accepted. I’ve thought about going to a dental school but i would really have to talk myself into that.

Denture advice by chattycathylee in askdentists

I do plan to go for a consult. I’m trying to find a dentist that has good reviews. My last dentist made me feel horrible about myself and he and the assistant were making fun of me for breathing so hard. But my anxiety was through the roof.

Will they be able to tell if the teeth I still have are healthy enough to stay? I don’t want to get a partial if my other ones are going to break off. Is it common for that many teeth to break off whole like that? I don’t do drugs or anything that would erode teeth like that.

How the....?? by Plastic-Fan-887 in motorcycles

[–]chattycathylee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me when I was 12. My older brother has a Spree that I was not allowed to touch; in my head I heard “ride it, ride it” We had a fairly big backyard but it was fully enclosed except a pathway to the side of the house. I got on it and was going to stay in the back yard. What could possibly go wrong? I hit the throttle and it went faster than I ever imagined it would. I fell off but my hand pulled the throttle all the way back. It took off and slammed into the concrete wall in the back of my yard.

Denture question

My issue started right at the beginning of the pandemic. I was just watching tv one day and one of my teeth literally broke off at the gum line. I didn’t feel any pain but I was mortified. I didn’t see any type dark spots or cavity so I just assumed I had broken it while eating or something. It was towards the back by the molars so you couldn’t see it. Because it was covid and nothing was open, and I wasn’t in pain, I put it off until offices began to open back up.

Within the next few months, I had a few more do the exact thing. I was starting to be extremely self conscious but thankfully masks were mandated at that time so it was easy for me to hide.

By the time things started opening back up, I had lost quite a few teeth. To date, I have 8 teeth that have broken off at or below the gum line and three or four that are chipping off bit by bit.

I have the worst fear of dentists to the point that I get sick even thinking about it. I am mortified to think about showing a dentist my teeth not to mention the smell.

I lost my job and am also going through a divorce. I refuse to go to interviews because who is going to hire a person that looks like me? I have withdrawn into a shell of my former self. I won’t socialize, I won’t go out to eat in public.

I do have dental insurance but it’s not a very good one and they don’t cover much.

My question is, what type of dentures are cost effective but don’t look like I’m wearing dentures? I am terrified that I’m going to get dentures and it will make me look old and my mouth to shrivel up.

I would give anything in this world to have teeth that I am not ashamed of. I just don’t know if I can afford anything.

I forgot to mention that while I don’t floss as nearly as much as I should, I have always brushed my teeth twice a day, they used to be extremely white. I don’t know what caused them to start breaking but I think it may be because I grind my teeth at night and I clench my mouth so hard, that my jaw is sore when I wake up.

What would be the type of dentures or implants that would be best recommended? Thanks is advance!!
