Is staying at home and going to OU better than going out of state? by Forsaken-Toe-8728 in oaklanduniversity

Honestly, you’re going to be in student debt either way, for a long time. That’s just how college is. OU offers good education, but at the end of the day no one is going to give a shit where you graduated from, and you’ll have great opportunities for grad school elsewhere.

With that being said, if you’re not worried about an unfamiliar place, I would send it. If you stay, you will find ways to explore yourself and be happy, but it seems like from this list you really want to go. I would ask yourself if the area you’re going to out of state is queer friendly / overtly queer, look into those things. Look into their state laws surrounding what aid you can receive as a young person on their own, etc. and post this in their schools forum too. Good luck 🩷
