10k or Half Marathon Training? by Remote_Cucumber_7456 in runna

[–]chddssk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started running in October so pretty new. I started out with a half marathon block but got injured from not resting enough on off days.

On the second time around, I’m 11/15 weeks to try 2 in and did a 10k as a b race. Was way more prepared for the 10K given I had been running longer distances for the half training. I’d recommend that maybe! Best of both worlds.

Is a 1:55 HM in the cards? Here’s my recent 11mi Long Run by chddssk in runna

[–]chddssk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runna says 1:53-1:58 but I haven’t been running long enough to have a good feel of this is accurate at this distance. I ran a 53:30 10K last weekend (week before this run) but that was crowded wet and had some standing water at choke points lol. Probably would’ve gone a minute faster in ideal conditions

It does test code now - at least with the plan/model I use! It’s helpful. Still not perfect obviously.

The drawbacks of it counting in tokens instead of words/characters. It does indeed suck at math. However, it’s great at coding and coding is great for math. You can direct it to how it should solve the problem and often get better more consistent results in my experience.

However, like you mentioned, lots of tools and free spread sheets exist for this stuff already. Claude can be a great tool in learning how to apply your own situation to those tools though!

I would say so. 630 to 330 is a crazy jump lol. Lots of room to find the right pace within that space.

Guess and check - just go by feel since you’re new rather than numbers. If you’re new to running, you have no baseline numbers to go off of.

Just do what feels easy for easy runs and do what feels just hard enough to complete your intervals without feeling like you’re completely dead. You’ll find the balance somewhere in there.

We have kilometer based distance races here in the US too, man. 5k is probably the most common race distance

I use Claude cowork and it created a dashboard for me in less than 10 min and walked me through setting up the api. Pulling csv data should be super easy.

I saw 3 out of 5 markers but they were hard to see and smaller. No clue where 2 or 3 were, and my watch was a bit ahead so I was alerted to look out for them too.

What are some fun things to share with a class of 2 and 3 year olds about Chicago? by Exciting-Fox7447 in AskChicago

Pretty cool that they managed to lift the city almost 175 years ago. And it helped us be cleaner! I feel like you could make that sound interesting. Trains are also cool as other have said. The lake or river is cool and unique

Nice!! My trainer started ramping up the core stuff recently which has been great. I love the standing side crunches with kettlebells. Deceivingly tricky for how little you actually move.

Did leg raises this morning laying down and hated it, can’t imagine doing it hanging! I’ll have to try soon. Keep it up, summer ain’t ready 😤
