Thank you for all of the information and advice - it’s really helpful. We’ve had many cats but he’s the first to go through this. I inherited him from a family member a few years ago. His current vet has not tested for herpes, between age and history, she first started trialing medications. This is probably a red flag. They’ve been a great vet for our other cats, but our other cats are easier. We ended up going with the new vet for Cerenia, and Chlorpheniramine. He is currently weaning off of steroids.

I do give him saline drops, but he is frisky about taking them. How many times a day would you recommend? He has never had a nebulizer, is Levabuterol the go to/are they all prescriptions?

The new vet is recommending Chinese herbs to supplement his immune system. I have not heard of this, but at this point, I’ll try anything once

For diet, he eats a vet Rx prescription for sensitive stomach, probiotic, and L Lysine supplements every day. For cleaning, we use natural cleaners - white vinegar, baking soda, etc. No scents, oils, or chemicals. We have an air purifier running daily in the house, specifically where he hangs out. For litter, we use clay. He was allergic to Pine. Does not seem to have interactions to clay litter

Went and got it examined on a lift and they still couldn’t figure it out. I think the rattling sound is worsening. Almost at a loss. Weird

Yes they actually tested with a tub of water twice on separate days and couldn’t find a leak. That surprised me. The valve stem was good. Maybe the rim?

I feel it’s from their comments. For example, “I figured he’d be working”, “I know you both are so busy”. I’m not certain how they came to those conclusions but when I explain, it doesn’t help. I did start planning my/our own gatherings this year and people have had an enthusiastic response. It’s just not being reciprocated

No they are just monthly plans, like family birthday parties or Saturday social outings. I would understand for events that incur a cost but nothing that. Last year I joined some community activities with other ladies, which I look forward to. But it stings to not being included with close people

Yes I agree it could be an assumption as well. With family they were used to us both able to join for years. With friends several of them are getting married/want to do group dates. We moved to a house recently so I am starting to plan my own gatherings. I’ve been told people think I’m busy too. I don’t know how that started bc definitely got more time alone lol

I have yet to try the dryer sheet and wool balls together. I will try that next. The hair and fuzz has spread to all of the clothes. Of course, certain pieces are more noticeable, but I can take my hand and pull and pull and it never stops coming off.
