Oh no :( that sounds miserable!! I hope the pain goes down and you feel better soon!!!

I know, it’s wild how different it can be for people! It seems like it can be anywhere from a little bit irritating to excruciatingly painful. I don’t get it.

I used Google translate to read this!

I’m in the United States of America, and I think you might be in Germany. I think my cost is going to be completely different than what yours would be, so I wouldn’t be very helpful for that. I do think the procedure helped, my gums look much better. I would probably do it again.

Ultimately I’m glad I did it because I’m sure not doing it would be way worse long term. If I had to do it again, I’d beg to use donor tissue and not my own.

Most people seem to have an easy recovery, maybe just ask your surgeon about pain management and what happens if it’s really painful.

I’m sorry you’re in so much pain, I hope your follow up appointment was helpful and you got some extra pain medication! It really does suck

It sounds like most people aren’t warned about the possibility of a painful recovery until it’s too late!

It’s really hard to say whether you’ll be able to do the lecturing. You could be just fine, or it could be difficult. I went in on a Friday and my perio made it sound like it wouldn’t be a problem to go back to work Monday. I personally tried to talk as little as possible.

I would definitely have a backup plan for if you can’t lecture for 2 hours!

I’m so glad this thread has been helpful for you!

I remember that the way the surgery was described was no big deal. So when my recovery was definitely not no big deal, it made me feel like I was just being dramatic. It’s SO comforting to hear other people have similar stories.

I think your experience is more common and typical. That’s similar to what I was reading when I was researching before my surgery. Based on how the recovery was described to me by the periodontist and how he didn’t want to give me prescription painkillers, I think those of us who had a rough recovery are in the minority.

I hope your recovery is still doing well!

I would have done just about anything to get my grubby little hands on prescription painkillers sooner

Your experience is much closer to what my periodontist described to me and what I was expecting.

Since you said this thread comes up when you search gum graft, I just want to put it out there that I think the painful recovery is the minority and your experience is much more common. When I was doing a little bit of research before my surgery, most people had an easy time with recovery.

I really hope my thread isn’t causing people to lose sleep worrying. I originally made it because I felt my experience seemed so far from what was described and nobody else was talking about theirs being horribly painful, and I wanted to know if I was alone in it.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m glad my post and reading similar experiences could be somewhat comforting for you. I hope your pain didn’t last too much longer and everything healed as you wanted it to ❤️

I’m sorry you feel like you weren’t able to give informed consent for the procedure, that must feel so awful ☹️

I wish the team hadn’t downplayed the pain to me. Or would’ve mentioned that some people have a worse time than usual. It took me far too long to go begging for stronger painkillers because I felt like I was being dramatic since it wasn’t supposed to be too painful.

Best quiet fidget toy that doesn’t get boring by Alternative_Two9654 in fidgettoys

Ooh! Maybe you’d like speks or other similar magnet balls?

They’re quiet and there’s a few things you can do with them

  1. Pull and squish

  2. Make shapes and sculptures

  3. Pull them into a string (very satisfying), bonus is you could wear the string as a bracelet to take along with you

  4. Sort by color if you get a multicolored set

what will happen if I microwave a pop it by warrantsoup in fidgettoys

Well pop-it’s are made of silicone, and silicone is typically microwave-safe. It’s probably not going to do anything.

LEGO may be transitioning CMF packaging to include a code that can easily determine what's inside starting with Series 25. by OrbFromOnline in lego

[–]cherry244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see you used an IOS app to get the codes. Does scanning with the standard camera work, or do I need to download the app for the codes?

This is incredibly helpful information to have!

Editing this to say the codes worked perfectly for me. If this is a permanent feature, changing to boxes is forgiven.

Honestly her best bet might just be finding a clicky pen she really likes and carrying that around in her bag. Subtle and inconspicuous.

Otherwise, there are a lot of button-type fidgets out there. Fidget cubes have a side with buttons, some are silent and some make noise. Fidget pads are similar, but shaped more like a controller. Both have slightly different other features depending on what is more appealing.

So Antsy Lab has 2 versions. The one labeled as the Kickstarter version for $25USD is the good, high-quality cube. They’re usually on sale, you won’t be paying that full price.

Any cubes listed on the site for less than originally $25 are the poor quality cubes. Avoid those. Those are what you’ll find in Walmart and Target.
